 I guess you either dont know what an ATI x1600 is or you prefer the standard Intel GMA 950's.

Like I said, the only rival to this specs wise is the Zoostorm's. But you wont find anything with this spec with a better build quality either - this is a bussiness class notebook.

HP build quality is very good and is a big part of their selling point too.

i do know what an ati x1600 is! alot of the core 2's come with geforce go 6150's or ati x1300's.

"business class" means nothing, just marketing!

Seriously, read the review i posted.

Business class may be marketing to an extent, but good quality ones are totally different to consumer models (made out of flimsy, springy plastic).

And why are you compairing an intergrated graphics card (gf go 6150) to a dedicated ati x1600 (will play any single pc game out now!).

I agree HP have really good build quality..thanks for the post gd_meister...i'll add this to my list of considerations for my laptop purchase next month.

But that one has a grade lower graphcs card, if you want to play recent games on your laptop the HP will cope, the Dell will struggle at best.
Not that the Dell is a bad deal, if you don't care about gaming it's probably the better choice.

I've been keeping an eye on the above laptop and hoping for a better deal with atleast a 3 year warranty.

Anyone know how much it is with them to get the 3 years ?

I think during november the same spec was at £800 or so but with extras like carry case, mouse and 3 years warranty which was pretty good but to pricey for me :-(.

This is a good spec considering that the Fujitsu siemens I posted a while back is out of stock and the specification has been changed..

It now comes with only 1GB RAM and is £649 instead. The main diff between that one and this is, that has X1100 256MB ati graphics card and this has an X1600. That has 120GB hdd...

nice find!

i was supposed to get this laptop last week but some credit card problems delayed and i'm still waiting argh.

it's quite pricier but how do you think this compares? considering it has windows media center os, a tv tuner and vista upgrade?

it's the best spec gaming laptop for the bucks...I emailed PCNEXTDAY yesterday and they informed that vista loaded laptops should be available in a few weeks...also 3% quidco

I have to admit that the original post is a great find. It's difficult to find a laptop with a true graphics card these days. Yes it's not Core 2 Duo but it is still a good processor and I would consider this if I was in the market for a laptop.

2gb of ram would be nice though. Maybe worth looking into adding another stick if it is only taking up one slot with the currecnt 1gb. If you did that then this would be a real powerhouse.

Shame but the one in the original post is out of stock and no doubt will be a deleted model now that HP are launching their vista ready models.

Original Poster

Well, fingers crossed that the new models come with Vista preloaded and Core2Duo processors.

If all that is included with a very similar price, I may upgrade.

lol i think it was you who originally suggested this for me and i'm very grateful for that great find. just still waiting for some things to go through before i can make a purchase.

have you dealt with pcnextday or any ZooStorm laptops?

hm shall i wait for a few weeks then for these vista loaded laptops? cause personally i have my doubts about the first batch and my son says he wouldn't mind using media center XP for a year or so first..

Haven't bought a PC or laptop from them but have purchased PC parts with no problem.

Well I think you can buy now and qualify for a free vista upgrade..best to check first with their customer services...if it were me I'd wait for vista loaded as I'd rather not have to upgrade the operating system...and with the installed vista you can be certain that any driver updates necessary for vista will be ready installed.
