I would try and find a better projector than this Optima for home Hi-Def cineman.
At 1300 ANSI is not bright enough for home cinema. You would always need a darkend room.
And the contrast ratio is not big enough. It only does 720P hi def.
But it does have a HDMI input and the free screen is a bonus.

bargain - voted hot

That screen ain't worth £300 - cold

I have this projector and although not 1080 - it will play @ 24fps and the quality / detail is superb. Yes a darkened room is pretty essential but I paid 389 from Amazon and it's the best 389 I spent. If you are changing from SD to HD and can get this projector cheaper than £450 I would go for it.

That's probably why they are giving it away free

The screen is def not worth £399 however it is worth £130 from here:

So it is still a good deal for both the projector and screen for £530 as you need a screen to get the best out of it.
Cheers.

Was £469.99 before the "free" screen was added.

Got this package, before Christmas, for quite a bit cheaper. But unfortunately, due to the weaken pound, virtually all electronics have risen in price.

The projector is fantastic, as is the screen, which does make a significant difference.

Head over to avforums, where there is a dedicated thread on this projector and you'll see why you want one!

Even the wife thinks it was money well spent

was 400ish b4 chrismas with "free" screen. voted cold

Not hot. That screen was never £399 so a blatent lie. Having said that, it's not an awful price if you wanted a screen as well as the PJ.
