Damm good spot

A few friends have bought to put in their caravans. £19 was cheapest ever that I know about. You just keep checking and change colour etc and special offers kick in
Anyone know if there are any firmware flashes to use this as an ip cam instead of relying on the yi service?
I had one of these that broke quite quickly. The support was hopeless and in the end had to use Amazon to refund. Don't need to use the cloud for storage, just pop in a micro SD card for recordings. Can remote view them from a mobile phone or the desktop app. For the most part was very good apart from the reliability issue that took about 2 months to resolve

I’ve had two of these now. The first lasted about 10 months before the picture went green and blurred. Got it replaced in December but it has now stopped displayed any picture at all.

The fixed yi home cameras I have are all working fine though so might be issue with the dome cameras.

Have to agree about the support being useless, basically don’t read the support call and just tell you how to set the camera up as if you’ve never figured out how to install it (which is pretty easy) and ignore the part where you say it has stopped working after being ok.

The first camera got replaced as I started the RTM via amazon but the current support call for the dodgy replac got closed by them after the basic response saying I’d not responded in 7 days despite reply the same day to say they hadn’t answered the problem. Hopefully the amazon route will get it sorted this time too.

They do come with a 2 year warranty though so if it goes wrong there’s time to get it replaced if you can get anywhere with support!

Can now confirm that these can be flashed, meaning they can be used as ip cameras outside of the yi cloud service. You’ll need some technical competence, but nothing crazy. Search yi camera hack on google if interested. Whole other ball game when you can store/stream the video yourself!
Dreadful app on these cameras it truly is.
