Voucher code not working for me!

I think the OP has a typo. It should be SPRING18.
Nike can stick their Air Max trainers until they start making ALL leather ones again at a reasonable price 80-120£ for cr@p fabric that go shabby quickly is no use to me. I used to always buy them but not any more. The boots look good by the way by i bought a pair of Peter Storm on one of these deals last week which are well made.

Justify your comment?
The quality of many of the products they stock has fallen over the past coup!e of years and the same can be said of the staff in our local store.
Rab, Montane, Berghaus, Mountain Equipment etc; same no matter where you buy it. Some of their OEX stuff isn't too bad.
Don't think I'd be going up Kinder in the rain in these though. Something like this for dog walking or shorter walks then maybe.
£4.95 delivery if no store near you...but code SPRING18 does work.

For the price nobody will realistically expect these to be good enough to scale all the peaks but to walk around in the annual snow they are sufficient and cheaper than a lot of mens wellies

I've learnt the hard way that on many of these cheaper brands, the term "waterproof" is to be taken with a pinch of salt. I certainly wouldn't trust them for a walk in the kind of snow we've had.
I need to get some boots for walking round the local town in France skiing next week, not looking to spend a lot though as its not often I go and will use them

Any recommendations? A lot in this thread seems to be against the ones in this post

Aldi are great. However, I will never buy footwear from them again.

I wear Karrimor a great boot which served me well this past week. You can buy water repellent spray to ensure they are water proof. However if you see suede on a boot then it won’t be fully waterproof more like shower proof.

The staff say the same thing about the customers.
You can usually get some Hi-Tec for about this price if you shop around. I can hear the naysayers revving up already at the mention of Hi-Tec, but their walking boots are very good.
Lidl do walking boots for £9.99. Leather and decent hand stitched soles. Well worth it. And breathable material.

On that basis, I'm voting this cold. Sorry.

Kindest regards

You won't get actual leather boots for £9.99. They'll be PU leather or similar.

They're actually faux leather, not PU leather. So I think the leather may be from France. It comes with a free bottle of leather protector. So I'm assuming it's all legit. Ordered online earlier.

Looking forward to giving them a go...

Sorry, just not cool enough. I remember a lad at school being bullied for wearing Hi-Tecs many years ago..

I was wise and stuck to Nike at school... No bullying for me!!

Kindest regards

I'll humour you then, although I'm not convinced So you know faux leather isn't leather, hence why it's called faux?

Are you pulling my leg?

It actually doesn't help that I failed my GCSE French... I mean, why don't they just call it fake leather

Kindest regards

I was in GoOutdoors last week, the guy there reckoned they fell into the legal definition of waterproof but didn't have much of a hydrostatic head when compared to other boots they sell.

Why not go the full hog and say "Faux Cuir" (Fake Leather....en francais).
Because a lot of people will not know what FAUX means (and it sounds like "posh" leather, non ?).....and why put CUIR when it certainly will not sell those FAKE LEATHER goods lol
Do I need a store card for this deal? Couldn't see anybody else ask in the comments.
