ordered , cheers

Most resteraunts in our area seem to be the same as the taste card. Ordered thanks as my taste card is about to expire.

Got one of these with tesco points a few years ago, maybe just me but i was embarrassed to use it after the first few times.
You need to explicitly mention to restaurant you are using it when making a booking and it wasnt uncommon for them to be conveniently fully booked.
Ive had a look at the restaurant list in my area and what used to be a handfull is now one.
Also this may have changed but a lot of restaurants mark your card so you can only use it once there, not so bad if you travel a lot.
Things may have changed since then but think ill pass.

It appears that those who see a good deal have been voting hot and those who just see the Daily Mail have been voting cold. Seems to be the only reason why the temperature has been going up and down.

Maybe those who have been voting cold would like to point out what the problem with the deal is, particularly as it doesn't actually involve the Daily Mail?

Link updated, thanks for sharing

Good value save half the cost at some of the best restaurants and discounts off banquets. Always saved many times cost. Some offer discounts at both lunch and dinner times. The better ones only accept top card platinum that cost more but is well worth it.You get what you pay for and more with this card give it a go Highly recommend great for north west and nationwide.

Got one of these last year, it was free when I bought insurance. Didn't find it all that good. Too many restrictions like not being able to use it on Friday and Saturday, or you have to book first. Worst of all is that on the back of the card is a set of small square that represents every outlet. If they mark the box you cannot use it there again.

With this great offer your 12 month Hi-Life membership costs just £24.99 (rrp £84.99) I'm not sure when the deal expires, the site does not specify.

Have used the hi life card for the last couple of years. Most of the posher restaurants do tend to mark the back of the card (well where i live anyway) the chains of restaurants involved dont tend to. One thing i would say are that most restaurants only accept it if you prebook and and almost all only accept hi life bookings during the week. That said you only have to really use the card once or twice to make it worthwhile

Original Poster

Most restaurants don't mark your card, although it is their prerogative,

Reading the T&Cs above, unless you have quite a lot of the restaurants in the scheme in your local area it could be hard to find anywhere that will honer this more than once.

How does the Hi-Life Card Work?

Select a restaurant you’d like to visit
Make a booking, in advance, mentioning Hi-Life
Simply present your Hi-Life card when requesting the bill to receive 2 meals for the price of 1
Please refer to each restaurant’s symbols of use, as failure to follow the conditions may render your offer invalid.

Some restaurants restrict the number of times you can receive the discount, they may do this by marking their individual restaurant number on the back of your Hi-Life card. If they do this you will not be able to obtain the offer at that venue on subsequent visits.

All Hi-Life restaurants – unless clearly stated – offer members 2 meals for the price of 1 across all courses. The cheapest of each course is deducted from your bill.

The Hi-Life offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other special offer and excludes drinks

Hi-Life has to be one of the best offers ever for people in the NW /Yorkshire who like to eat out.

I first got a card about 10 years ago when there were probably no more than 100 restaurants on there.

i have a platinum one of these cards, had it for a couple of years now. really good if you eat out a reasonable amout.

There are restrictions though. Probably the most important are:-
You can only use it once in any given restaurant as they are supposed to mark the card. Several dont though.

There are often restrictions on using it on popular days like fridays, saturdays and sundays.

Still well worth it. recommneded
