Don't own them so can't comment but good reviews, waterproof walking boots for sizes 7-11 are £24 in brown (some cheap in grey too).

The blurb:
This comfortable men's multi-sport boot is lightweight and fully waterproof. With a dri-tec waterproof membrane and abrasion-resistant mesh, this boots offers breathability, support and protection. The synthetic leather upper promotes comfort and durability. The ghillie and eyelet lacing system creates a snug, secure fit and the gusseted tongue keeps debris out. Featuring a nylon shank and mdt rubber outsole, the moreno wp delivers stability and lightweight support. The removable moulded eva footbed promotes underfoot cushioning and comfort.

Check price on right, others may be cheaper, have ordered grey from urban ledgenz for £24 delivered

Synthetic leather will make your feet sweat badly. The Hi-Tec site used to have similar real leather boots for a similar price.

Mine leak and the sole is coming away. Less than a year old.

Are these true to size or do you need to go up a size?

only size 7 brown are at £24

size 12 brown - £29.35, grey £34.99

Grey 10 are still £25.19.

This is common with amazon, as soon as something sells the price creeps up.

Ordered. Thanks for posting.

Mine too, although ones I had before that were a fantastic walking boot and lasted me ages.

They don't look the most heavy duty, bet the toe will come away if you take them up the mountains, but seem good value for lighter use.

How can that be the case? i was hoping the breathable membrane would stop sweaty feet.

Pretty good price - about ten pounds off which is okay so purchased.

£29.35 for size 11 brown ordered, should suffice for the summer festivals this year.

Can anyone recommend a brand of hiking/walking boots for people with wide feet?

I'm not being a snob, but I wanted something a bit better than Karrimors, they don't really have a good reputation?

They are on the same level as hi-tec. Sports Direct sell both.

I bought a pair of Berghaus boots a few weeks ago for £40 and they weren't wide enough so sold them on eBay for £70 X)

Well, I've had Karrimors fall apart after wearing them a couple of times and I've had Hi-Tec last years. As it stands I'd go with Hi-Tec every time.

I have had both too & find them much of a muchness.

I've had both and find the hi-tec better, but not by a large margin. Enough to spend a tenner more, but I usually wait for Amazon to do deals on merrells and grab them when they're under £40.
