Great price for these tropical-looking shrubs - I know my Hibiscus syriacus and judging by the branches diameter, these are about 3 years old. They come bare root - well, roots have been bound with some damp soil to keep the plant alive - and will not be showing any signs of leaves just yet, they come into leaf later than many other deciduous shrubs, ie mid-spring (many people think they have died over winter, not so). They are hardy down to -25/30C once established so will survive anywhere in the UK (and pretty much anywhere in Europe). The colour on offer here is a delicate mauve, one of the less common colours. A potted 3YO Hibiscus like this is going to cost you £5-6 at somewhere like Home Bargains (I posted a deal last year for Hibiscus/ HB) or £10-£15 at a garden centre.

Each store will possibly be different but at my B&M these were on a standalone display stand near the till (but roughly in line with the indoor garden bit) - display included other bare root shrubs such as Weigela all @ £1.99. In 40cm high boxes.
Might need to keep them in the greenhouse for few weeks while the frosts are still around?

Might be a good idea if you live in a very frosty area - they've been in a warm shop so might be shocked. I'm going to stick them outdoors today though - Cornwall and if we get a rare hard frost, it won't do any harm through the compost.

If you plant them outside immediately, a bit of mulch would be all you need, these are very hardy plants.
