thanks matey couldnt figute out where the 'system tray' was but got there in the end

The product itself is Works fairly well but has issues.

No great loss not including support, as they are the most unhelpful and frustrating help desk to deal with. Monosyllabic would be an understatement.

I've heard of this Program some months back (at a time of when it was still NOT 'free', & stuff?,lol) ...

From the little i've heard/know of this, it appears to be kinda on the ball still?, lol. :-)

You might want to put some more memory in your computer pal, I have been using it since it got posted with no problems (8GB)

Nice freebie, but I prefer paying $4 a month for my VPN.

What the difference between this and a vpn? Can someone explain?

Sounds just the same as the FREE Hola extension for Chrome. I know which one I'd rather use.

It might not be their RAM. RAM isn't every thing... Though it probably is if you're using chrome. Chrome uses way too much!

I use Zenmate which is FREE for lifetime and just need installation of Google Chrome Extension...

Available for other browsers, Android and iOS as well.. worth trying

zenmate.com/

I found Zenmate was slower than Cyberghost.

16gb DDR3 RAM ? Don't think thats the problem

What has internet speed got to do with RAM? And as he said, he's got plenty of that regardless. Some people know nothing about computers.

MS ans. to why Internet is slow!!

Phil if your Internets has slowed down straight after installing this SW then I would read the part from above link.

I would uninstall the SW and or restore it to the last Restore Point before this SW was installed. [It is a bit of steps to follow but if you read all you will be able to follow them even a novice]
If this hasn't resolved your issue, then the probable reason was that mentioned in MS link there are add on that can slow internet down.

The DO's
The RAM(For those who don't understand it ONLY so please don't come back and say I knew that, don't come back Period) plays part of a temp memory just like the board in class where teacher will write his/her notes as s/he speaks if you have taken those notes in your note book or Brains then fine you have saved it. If you have not taken the notes by the end of his/her lecture or the board is whipped out then tough luck you have lost it.
The DON't

RAM is your board. If you have saved the document presentation or that vital Project piece you have been working on for hours then your job is safe. If you have closed the document and still say No to saving the document when you have a chance don't phone your IT support guy/gal and RAM down his/her ear hole to get that piece back. They won't be able to. PS If you have Autosave configured in place then the last time it autosaved might be recoverable but certainly not anything after that.

What has this lecture got to do with the comment RAM has nothing to do with Internet speed well everything(a bit at least) as far as I can see. Read the MS site to get a bit more on this after knowing about RAM you will understand a bit more I hope.

To speed up your computer speed do a regular House Keeping it will help a bit even if your computer has W95 OS you can still use it(can't find todays but found this Jan 2014, It did make me laugh when the guy had a temp memory lapse right at the end...) in this modern day and age with a bit of improvement and a lot of house keeping.

No....RAM has very little to do with someone's internet speed. RAM is random access memory and stores files on the fly. Having a slow private VPN connection is down to the quality of the VPN rather than local memory.

Am I being over wary with any of these VPN type services - great if you have a computer that only accesses the things you don't mind someone else looking at but I wouldn't be happy to log into anything insecurely as they would be able to harvest your username and password and other good info. If you follow poor practice and use those to log in elsewhere then the problem gets even bigger.

Personally I use hide.me...

If the service is slow, its not your ram
or your computer
or your internet

Because absolutely none of those even effect internet speed. This program is just a proxy/VPN, and only if you have a system with 1 GB of ram or less or a similar leveled CPU then you have problems( Did you buy your PC before or after 2004?)

The reason the service is slow because their proxy is slowing down your internet, it can't possibly be your computer.

This messes up GTA V on PC.

I need a product like this to hide my IP

I have been recommended to use TOR which is a free service... why would I get this over TOR?

Do they keep records of your activity ? As I use Private Internet Access which I've read don't log any activity! Worth the few quid a month in my opinion!

Its not changing the IP.I installed it and put in the full licence key, then closed all my browsers and then started the browser again and when I Google my IP its giving me the correct IP not the fake one !!!

Some IPs throttle you if they know you are using a vpn, as some people use vpn to bypass country restrictions or hide the fact they are using usenet/torrents.
