I bought a bottle of this whisky last week. I looked at the bottle kind of monkey shoulder style with proper cork closure and then I thought it's only £15 so I'll have a go...and it appeared to be one of the best ones I ever had. Probably it will be voted cold because it's not Jack, Jura, Jameson etc. but sometimes it's good to try something new and I would highly recommend it. £14.99 is a regular price.

I saw this recently and am really interested to try. The Highland Black has been my go to cheap whisky for years, and probably the only sub 25 quid whisky that you can drink neat.
Are you a bourbon drinker? Plenty of those sub-£25 that are very drinkable neat
I'll definitely give this a go. There are hits and misses on here. Makers Mark 46 for example tastes a bit like fuel to me

Agree about the Highland Black which is an 8 year old blend so interested to see opinions on how this younger offering compares.

Definitely true of Irish whiskey too.
Tempting, will try
Agree about the Highland Black. If you like spiced rum occasional, the 'Seadog' is up there with the best.
Jura and JD should be voted cold not this. It is obviously Aldi's version of Monkey Shoulder . Maybe they should have called it Squirrels Knee?

Saw it yesterday but picked up Highland Black instead cause i have a cold and dont waste expensive stuff.

For sub £15 Highland black is totally decent so i would think this is worth a punt of anyones money at this price.

Got a bottle of this on the go at the minute, very nice it is too.
I'm a vodka man and I drink the aldi version of grey goose which I find to be very good so I would have high Hope's of this being nearly on par with monkey shoulder
What is the Aldi grey goose equivalent called please, Aldi can be a bit hit and miss sometimes on food and drink but Lurpak or Norpack for example, if it tastes ok then why not......
This is a 5 year old blend. I bought a bottle and was not impressed.
Lidl does a blend that is comparable in quality and price to highland black.
