Highland Park 12 Year Malt Whisky Whiskey, 70 cl - Amazon Lightning Deal - £21.99

I don't think it's any cheaper than £25 elsewhere, so seems like a decent reduction.

Highland Park 12 Year Old remains one of the gold- standard malts for other distillery bottlings to aspire to. With a delicious sweetness (heather-honey is their preferred description) and a warming, silky mouthfeel, this is a whisky that never lets you down. "The greatest all-rounder in the world of malt whisky". Michael Jackson, Michael Jackson's Malt Whisky Companion

This is commonly reduced to £25, but dont think I've seen for less. Hot.
It's lovely whisky - I have a bottle on the go bought for £25 on Amazon in the summer. I think another is called for.
I've had my eye on this, £25 in Sainsbury's, buying as a pressie - good Whisky to give? My mate likes his single malts.
Brilliant. Thank you

Bit of a classic, I'd say. Not too peaty.

Hot price. Cheers OP.
My favourite 12 year. Just the right amount of smoke. Never seen it this cheap. Mmmm, would be rude not to!
This is a cracking deal. Hot!
Thanks ordered
Be aware that this isn't the original Highland Park, but a different version called Highland Park Viking Honour which is a bit more peaty.
Cracking deal supermarkets had on special at £25 which was good.Nice drop
An excellent whiskey for the price. However the 18 year old is worth the extra, but it's significantly more, at around £110. There's some damn fine Japanese whiskey as well.
Ordered. thanks for sharing.
One of my favorites. Its definitely an easier whisky to enjoy should one want to introduce themselves to the world of whisky. I wont be buying though as Im waiting for the Lagavulin's to go on offer (if ever)

It is but, whether intentional or not, they do seem to have changed the recipe slightly and made it peatier in the process.
Always get a bottle for Christmas from my mum due to her living in Orkney.Nice tipple With a hint of smoke but Dalwhinnie still remains my fav.
13 year.

For only £15

Perfect
Not getting great reviews on master of malt or whisky exchange. It seems a lot of people have found the recipe has changed and not for the better. All style in new packaging it seems too

It gets pretty much 4 out of 5 on both sites, with a flurry of seemingly anti-hype types dragging the overall score down with silly 1 star reviews.
Ordered thanks. Hubby had mentioned he’d wanted some whiskey for his birthday ✅

13 year. For only £15

Great price, but that's blended scotch.
14.99 in my local coop. Reduced to clear white ticket, not standard orange & white label. Worth looking for. argain
Prefer Paddy, can't handle peaty whisky

You're mistaken there Huntegowk, this is the standard Highland Park 12yr and the "Viking Honor" label is just because of the new fancy bottle/packaging/branding (I think they want to give all their whiskies a sub-label, the 18yr for instance is Viking Pride). The whisky you're thinking of (a peatier version) is Highland Park Dragon Legend, which comes in a black bottle and is a Tesco exclusive.

Just on a side note though, you can watch reviews on YouTube where experts taste test the old Highland Park bottling next to this new Viking Honor bottling and apparently there has been a slight change in taste with the new 12yr Old. Nothing major but a slight difference that usually happens with whisky as new batches replace the old.

I'll take your word for it then, but punter reviews on sites like Whiskyexchange suggested there have been changes, and tragically I don't have any of the old bottling for comparison.
It does taste different, but only subtly different. I believe reviewers on YouTube mentioned that it tastes slightly more of burnt matches and they agreed that the old bottling was slightly better, but this is the 12yr Old bottling that's replacing the old, it's not a "new" version per say and it's not like the old version is continuing to be sold, once all the bottles of the old are sold, that's it.
