A groundbreaking, acclaimed series, Hill Street Blues centers on the sometimes tenuous relationship between an urbanpolice precinct and the people they are sworn to protect. Set in the heart of a racially-torn metropolis, each episode follows a day in the life of the show’s compelling characters, who struggle to balance their personal and professional lives, as they fight against crime.

Have some heat.

I used to love Hill Street Blues. This must have been recorded on video tape originally, as I've not see a HD version of it yet. Currently included with Amazon Prime.

Film. So can be rescanned to HD or whatever. If they didn't junk it all!
Just started watching Hill Street again on all4, as good as when it first aired, to be honest.

Good character, played the sneaky backstabbing part well, I remember not liking him at all when I first watched this at 13. For me the best character was Bruce Weitz who played Sgt. Mick Belker. He reminded me of my older brother, small but with a hot temper and not afraid of anything.

Great deal Hill street blues on iTunes UK currently at £15.99 for series 1 and £16.99 for series 2. Can’t see anymore available on uk iTunes.
Apparently there’s 7 seasons In total making 146 episodes. So IF they were available in the uk you might be looking at over £100 for the lot

Thanks for that, time for a binge watch week!
Been wondering what to do with myself since finishing watching all the Spooks series!
Some really dark humour in it as well..... Anyone remember the episode with the funeral of Sgt. Esterhaus ("let's be careful out there") where the cops gathered in the street to lay his ashes...... and then what happened? Brilliant.

I’ve created 3 Canadian accounts each time I get the 19.99 price same as US. Has the price gone up?

Cheers I figured it was exchange rate eventually.
Anything created by Steven Bochco was usually a banker.

Too young to appreciate this, buit grew up watching NYPD Blue and LA Law.
So many nostalgic and happy memories of watching this series. Our Friday night treat, staying up late with Mum and Dad and my brother and sister, fish and chips and Hill Street Blues. I probably didn't appreciate it fully back back then as a kid, but it's seared into my memory along with the characters.

Simpler, happier times Great post OP
fantastic theme song

You need to create a Canadian iTunes account. Choosing Canada as the region and using a Canadian address (use one in Alberta). You would then need to top up using Canadian iTunes credit. That can be bought from PC Game Supply or Amazon Canada.

The Apple TV app is on Firestick, Roku and newer Samsung and LG TV’s.
Loved the credits to this. OMG Joyce Davenport is 76. How old does that make me?
In case you missed the earlier commnet. Hill Street is on All4 for free
this was and is a classic. i watched a few episodes again recently and can honestly say it is as relevant today as it was back then. Some really hard gritty story lines - it could make you laugh, cry and angry all in the same epidosde. if you have never watch would definitely recommend.
Great great show. Really high quality.

I watched it when it was originally on but got outvoted when the last episode was on by "friends" in the same house who insisted on watching Moonlighting (I think) so I never saw the end...... then it appeared on streaming last year so I watched the whole thing from the start to the final episode.

Great show, well written, great cast.

Fabulous TV. If you like this then you might like The Shield. It's like Hill Street on steroids
Loved this as a kid, although I'm not sure it was age appropriate. It was this or Benny Hill
