Looks like some great deals on hotel stays from Hilton. I checked out some of the Tokyo hotels I stayed at last year and there are some great prices for next year.

That’s because those exact dates aren’t available. if you click “view list of available date for this rate” it shows you what dates you can get a discounted rate (¥13,900) which is the 7-13th June and the 14-20th June.

Its all about being flexible with your dates which isn’t always helpful if your travel arrangements are set in stone.

No problem. I stayed at the Hilton Tokyo Bay last year for a few days which was very convenient for the monorail for Tokyo Disneyland and Disney Sea. The rooms are pretty big for Tokyo too.

Odiaba is a bit of a funny place and little far from Shinjuku and Shibuya much like Tokyo Bay was. The second half of the trip we spent closer to the center of Tokyo.

So where do you recommend to stay for a first timer going Japan and Tokyo?

The main places are

Shinjuku (if you see pictures of Tokyo, that's usually Shinjuku. Can be very busy and some say seedy)
Ginza (posh area)
Shibuya (where the famous scramble crossing is, It's pretty nice)
Asakusa (where the Kaminarimon "Thunder Gate is, a bit further out though)

We stayed at the Tobu Hotel Levant Tokyo in Sumida which is even further out and we got the metro in which didn't take too.
long. Next time though I think I'll be booking a hotel in Shinjuku or Shibuya.

Obviously the main issues with staying in the city centre is the price and another is room size as the rooms can be pretty small so make sure you check out the square footage before booking.

Another thing to note is that they run whats called a limousine bus service from Haneda airport which is essentially a coach from the Airport that stops at lots of hotels in Tokyo, If you stay at one of those it can make things easier too.
We stayed in Ikebukuro, the Prince Sunshine City. Great hotel, but next time I too would prefer to stay in a Shinjuku. In general though, you can’t really go wrong staying anywhere with easy access to the Yamanote line ( I think that’s what it’s called ). We also did a night in Tokyo bay for Disney Sea
