Himalayan rock salt is also known as pink rock salt because of its distinctive pale pink color. Mined in Pakistan, Himalayan rock salt is a naturally occurring salt rich in a number of minerals. Himalayan salt can be harvested as large blocks, such as for cooking slabs or making rock salt lamps, or it can be crushed into medium and small pieces. It can also be ground up at home in a salt grinder to use in cooking, much like regular sea salt.

What size/weight are they?

These are 99p in B&M, sometimes two for £1.49

I didn't really know what it was to be honest. Does it taste the same as regular rock salt (can you tell the difference?)

This is an amazing deal. I'm hoping they have it at my local.

Table salt is refined more and usually has iodine added to it. Rock salt is coarse and unrefined without any additions. one is natural one is not

Damn it, I was looking for a regular Rock Salt grinder. Guess I'll have to keep on looking.

Always £1.99 in B&M's I visit. I have all of the different ones!

No possible health benefits..It's just a scam. Look at the chemical analysis of the salt.

Its salt. No better for you than table salt. A bit of a marketing gimmick in my opinion

"Himalayan rock salt is also known as pink rock salt because of its distinctive pale pink color. Mined in Pakistan, "

This is true of Himalayan salt, however this is misleading because on the reverse of the product advertised it states:

PRODUCT OF SOUTH AFRICA

yes it had a built in grinder.. x

Cyanide is a natural product, found in wild cherry seeds.
Just because something is natural does not mean it's safe, let alone better.

You can grab them in the Wakefield store too, picked one up this weekend

Himalayan lol (_;)

well its cheap anyway

Nonsense - "table salt" is a processed, extracted product. Pink salt has a wide array of naturally occurring mineral content.

The health benefits are scientific and non-controversial.

Somebody posted an article about these salts being ineffective as a BATH salt.

Are you kidding me?? Eat it!

This post by LAZYCOUPLE is exceedingly LAZY!

Don't know if this is the same company (I don't have the product in front of me) but a google search immediately brings up this :

"All our salt is analyzed before leaving Pakistan and the results are independently verified on arrival in South Africa."

That's a link there.

I believe its a cheap plastic grinder.

Pretty sure pink salts is good in baths for people with arthritis, I've not heard people wax lyrical about eating it instead of say sea salt

If Poundland bought a cheap job lot, it could be Crystal Meth........

Heat added for this, to say how cheap the big grinders are they're surprisingly good and never lock up or become hard to use, better then ones that cost a lot more.
