Family member works for JLR in a good blue-collar manager role. Drives a Vauxhall as he doesn't rate JLR.

Sulla_Felix

I know tastes differ, but in my mind the only car uglier than this on the road is the Nissan Juke.

Bazza71

Try telling that to two of my mates who've had to have new engines in their 2 year-old Discoveries. Neither would touch a LR, now.

Mick.Turner

is this a joke?

mechanicalman

Slight hyperbole there me thinks! All modern cars are very reliable, you may get a bad one, but they will be the exception rather than the rule. You are spot on about repair bills though. I would only lease a car for as long as the warranty was covering it.

Sadly not relevant anymore but they did say they thought it was £465. I phoned them this morning to challenge that though because Parkers guide says that a standard Automatic M Sport without any packs should be £145. It was when they were checking this out for me they discovered the pricing error. I think I was going to get away with it but they also had a 330i which was the same price which prompted the query to the pricing department. To be fair at that price I was prepared to take the higher tax on the chin!

Hi. It was from Coopers BMW in Sunderland but I've had a call back from them today saying it was priced incorrectly and they pulled the deal. (mad) The deal is still there as well (link below), there were 2 available and one was sold when I phoned them. https://usedcars.bmw.co.uk/vehicle/201912095172994?location=6%20The%20Gables,%20Allandale%20Road,%20Burnham-On-Sea,%20TA8%202HG"eref=5e1a82c1-fe92-4bbb-9fcf-163fad639c80

smellybum78

That's a proper deal, what's the first year's tax on it? as its over 40k?

yorkie

Where from? Sounds a good deal.

handful

I've just put a deposit down on the new 3 series M Sport Touring. Pre registered 69 plate but effectively brand new for £25k. That car is over £40k list price. Not bragging btw, just saying as others have that there are some seriously good deals around at the moment. My current car is a 420 on a lease btw and that's worked well for me so not against leasing per se.

How could the OP possibly believe this to be a good deal (confused)

Leasing can be a good option, but when your in a 5 year lease with only 3 year warranty, your pretty much throwing anyway the benefits a lease provides i.e. if stuff goes wrong you don't have to pay for it.

Proveright

"Total lease cost approx 60% of full list price." The way leasing works is they charge you for how much the car will depreciate in the term. So the Evoque will lose 60% of its value in 5 years. Bit like the Disco, they are lovely cars but every mechanics review I have read says the brand is so unreliable. They have so much on them to go wrong. You will need the free breakdown cover.! :D

Dawsy

Guess for some millennials it's this instead of saving for a deposit. In the hope the Government will give every poor millennial a free deposit paid for by the tax payer.

Evezy hiked the monthly rental for Tesla Model 3, now starts from £799 per month

MrKrabs

For reference if this was 21% of the p11d the lease cost would be £8469 or £352 a month

MrKrabs

Why is leasing.com banned? Tried to post a Jaguar ipace HSE deal that comes to 21% of p11d value for 8k miles. £656.27 / month which is pretty damn good imo for a £75k car.

jeez. I agree this has to be the worst lease deal I have ever seen. Good effort OP, but have a look at some of other deals that are on hukd, you will see how bad this really is. Good effort though. Cheers.

cossiecraig

Try getting out of that deal anytime before around 3/4yrs as I'm sure you would find yourself in negative equity. Sorry op seems a low monthly agreed but this is a poor deal tbh.

price to sucker you in and sting you later.

m5rcc

Yeh a price glitch - in their favour!

shakerstevens

Sorry, cold. If you want a low deposit, you can get a brand new Aygo (so that will be the current generation, more fuel efficient, more features etc) for £3 more a month as already posted this week by someone else. Or put a bigger deposit down (still only £900 deposit) and its £99 a month... https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/toyota-aygo-1-0-vvt-x-play-5dr-8k-42-month-99-97-with-900-deposit-119-97-with-119-2398563

ghost71100

Don't forget to mention but ownership means it also has a resell value X)

toonsquirel

So you can lease a 4 year old aygo for £5,700 or buy a 4 year old aygo with 30k miles for around £5000? So for only £700 you get the pleasure of handing the car back instead of keeping it..
