Found 17th Aug 2015
Join the Summer of Cycling with Santander Cycles. On 22 and 23 August, hire a bike with the new Santander Cycles app and get free 24- hour access for all journeys up to 30 minutes.
Don’t have a smartphone? Just go to a docking station with your bank card and touch the screen to hire a free bike.

The official app allows you to receive a bike release code straight to your phone, so you can skip past the docking station terminal and get on your bike quicker.

How it works:

Step 1 – Hire: Download the app and register for a 24-hour membership. Tap ‘hire now’ and get your release code.

Step 2 – Ride: Check your tyres, brake and bell then tap your code into the docking point.

Step 3 – Return: Push the bike back into any docking point and wait for the green light. The app will notify you that your journey has ended.

For more information and Terms & Conditions, visit tfl.gov.uk/san…les.

HOW TO CLAIM: download the free Santander Cycles app or go to any docking station with your bank card

Terms & Conditions: Book between 00:01 on 22 August and 23:59 on 23 August. Offer valid on journeys of up to 30 minutes only for 24 hours from the time of booking. Additional charges apply for journeys longer than 30 minutes, or if you damage a bike, don’t return it or require a replacement key. you need more than a bike to get around London. Most normal cities you can just walk around, but London...£12 travel card each day!

It means you can only take a bike for up to 30 mins at a time. So take a bike, ride to your destination and if you're within 30 mins from when you undocked its still included in this offer and free. However if you go over 30 mins it charges you £2 for each additional 30 mins. You can take as many bikes as you wish throughout the 24 hours as long as you dock and then order a new bike even from the same docking station.

Good luck getting anywhere on a road in central London in under 30mins as they take your card details I am sure they will be charging a lot of people for not returning within 30mins

I was behind a trendy on one the other day who was riding with earphones in and texting as he
peddled - and they wonder why they end up under the wheels of a HGV.

I was going to Kingston via Kingston Rd,New Malden the other day.Saw a young guy on a mtb.Had one hand on the handlebar and the other hand holding a little girl.
Made me smile.:) I admired his good sense of balance on his bike.

Pouring with rain today, some guy on a bike went straight across two lanes of moving traffic then the wrong way round the Elephant and Castle roundabout........either completely drunk or a complete idiot but either way very lucky the sunday drivers were out and the HGV drivers weren't. As it was he gave this old lady another couple of grey hairs.....
