Very good price for this 50" HDTV. From what I can find it is selling around £340 to £450 elsewhere.

With the Hisense LTDN50D36TUK if you want to make the most out of high definition programming, movies and games you need a big screen and this Hisense 50" TV fits the bill exactly.

This full HD LED television is ideal for a large room and is perfect as the main family TV and with 19201080 full high definition resolution, the images are so life-like, it feels like you're really there. The 1,080 horizontal lines create stunning details and crystal-clear, vibrant colours to create a brilliantly realistic picture.

LED TVs uses LED backlighting and deliver breakthrough picture quality in an energy-efficient, eco-friendly design. You'll enjoy an incredible range of brightness and colour in an ultra-slim style. With the Hisense LED backlight technology, the optical limits and boundaries of traditional TV are defied leaving your imagination no choice but to indulge.

With amazing detail and beautiful, rich colour, HD is the best way to experience programmes on Freeview and you can get the UK's favourite TV channels in high definition subscription free (Subject to Coverage and aerial suitability)

A Personal Video Recorder built in to a TV allows you to record TV programmes on to a memory stick through a USB port. There's no degradation in picture and sound quality when you record a programme, and it's just as good as watching live TV. So not only can you watch all your favourite TV programmes by recording or even series linking them for the future, you can even pause live TV if you wish.

The USB digital media player provides you the flexibility to enjoy not only photos or music, but also HD movie files directly in your TV via USB.

Our lasses brother is after a 50", hes not bothered about all singing, all dancing technology, I pointed him towards the Luxor 50" from Richer Sounds given that it has a 5 year warranty, although I don't really think thats a major advantage for a purchase for him.

How would people compare this to the Luxor?

Great price on a 50inch with freeviw HD and built in PVR however not the greatest spec (surprise!);

Dynamic Contrast 3000:1
Refresh 50
Response Time (grey to grey)6.5ms

if your after a cheap 50inch it looks a winner.

Looking at the specs I notice this has Freeview HD over the Luxor.

Fantastic price with free view hd built in

I'm after a smart tv, this obviously first have those features, but can I hook it to my laptop and streaming player etc that way instead?

cheap price for a budget TV.. never heard of this brand myself

anyone tried this company before?

I've got a hisense 8 inch tablet, so its not much of a comparison, but the tablet is a good quality build, nice and quick and the screen is really good (if a bit reflective).

Heat... 250 for a 50"... For that price you can't complain..

It's bargain of the century massive in China im told with Samsung parts

No, they put in a electronic chip so that plugging into your laptop is impossible and plugging in your streaming device makes it explode.

On a recent visit to China the apartment I stayed in had a Hisence Tv. To me picture quality was excellent. If i needed a TV of this size i wouldn't hesitate.

The above comment is nonsense. I had a streaming device plugged into the one in my apartment and it worked

No DNLA but it has an ethernet port... strange.

I'm tempted but 3 TV's in the house is a bit ridiculous.

Not sure whether go for this or an LG 49LB5500?

Shouldn't be a problem - from one of the responders under 'Customer Questions & Answers':

"I put a 50" Samsung plasma, a 55" Sony LCD and a 65" Samsung LCD they all fit perfectly so I would think that should not be a problem. If need be just use bigger screws for the wall bracket."

You can't really go wrong with this size of screen at this price. Heat

Can't find where to put discount code, gone right through to final order bit.. Still comes up at £299

Same. I'm trying to check out as a guest. Do you have to be registered to use codes?

Edit: Yes.

If you go through Quidco there's also 8% cash back :-)

I've went for it. Great price for this size of a tv. Have a sound bar from Christmas sales so just hoping picture quality is decent.

Obvious drawbacks are: It's not a smart TV (which means no BBC iPlayer, Netflix, no wifi, bluetooth built in etc); Power consumption is A rated, not A+, Fresh rate is 50Hz, not 100Hz or above, which are considered standard nowadays.

I can't get the voucher code to work. "Please enter a valid voucher code and try again" Is this expired? Can anyone take a screenshot on where to enter it?

Just got an order cancelled email this morning. No further reason why.
