Fantastic tv for less than 300 notes, the M3300 series now offers HDR via HDMI as well as USB thanks to a recent firmware update.

I bought the 50" version for my bedroom when it was on offer a fortnight ago and it isn't put to shame by the Samsung KS8000 in the lounge - a tv that cost nearly 5x the price of the Hisense!

I know that lots of HUKDers have issues with AO.com but I have never had a problem with them personally.

Add the tv to the basket at 329. Go to checkout and add in the code 4K10. Job done.

Hot. is it better to pay the extra £50 for the richer sounds service / guarantee?

I would say not on a TV this cheap. I am a big fan of the Richer Sounds Supercare warranties, but wouldn't bother on this tbh. £50 is a big hike in price on a sub £300 purchase imo.

Just bought this on a whim to replace a 5 year old Sony ex503 40 inch in the spare bedroom. Hope I'm not disappointed. Got six months interest free too. Happy days. Thanks OP

how's this as a monitor for the PC. I'm not a gamer or anything, just the usual PC stuff and the occasional video. Anyone?

Looks like I got a bargain by getting the 49" Hisense for £333.

I said almost the exact same on here about warranties on sub £300 TVs and took sh*t for it.

Still no HD UK updates

Anyone gone for this? What's it like?

I'm looking to replace the exact same TV so would be interested in the comparison. Having a tough time matching the pic quality of the old set.

Arrived Tuesday. Build quality seems ok. Easyish to get the feet on. Connection via a satellite tuner. Took ages to scan and picked up 500 channels. No real order on the epg. Pic quality is great for the money. Nice and light. Sound average and could do with a sound bar to enhance it but it's ok for the money. These are just initial thoughts...

So over all not a rave review mate?

I'm getting mine Tuesday, so I'll leave some thoughts then as well

I just got the tv and here is my quick review.

Build quality is ok the two feet are a little fiddly to put on as at first I thought they had to fit in the holes but
they must fit flush to the plastic. The remote is just a nice size and does not feel cheap and nasty.

I have my Xbox one s connected to HDMI 3, as 3 and 4 support 60 kHz refresh rate but 1 and 2 are only 30 kHz.
As I haven't received the HDR firmware yet I cannot comment on this but even without the update the quality is
impressive. The black levels are good and motion blur nearly non existent , as for banding, dse and backlight bleed for me its very minor. The sound is ok as well but I think I might add a soundbar at a later date but not enough to run out and get one straight away. The smart side of the tv I do not use because I use the xbox for this but its all there.

Before this tv I tried Lg and Samsung and I wasn't impressed, the lg had bad vertical banding and bleed and the
Samsung had motion blur issues but the black level was superb.

All in all a great tv, at the end of the day judge the tv on the picture and not what badge its got on the front.
If I had to give this tv a score out of ten with ten being the best then I award it 9 out of ten for value and picture
quality. I ended getting mine for £280 and its worth every penny.

Going to bite the bullet and order one now I think...

I went for the 43" model (43M3000) and am totally happy with it since the firmware upgrade (they are rolling it out so just cross your fingers for a week and I'm sure it will turn up). I had a decent quality Samsung model before and whilst the black levels were better on Samsung, everything else on the Hisense is a nice step up. I would say the big Pro's are:

* Decent picture with low motion blur (not the best of course but great for the price) - didnt notice the UHD tbh
* User interface is much faster after the firmware upgrade and is faster than my old Samsung (again not blisteringly fast but no longer an annoyance)
* TV looks really smart and seems to have decent build quality
* The CEC is really good and it does a great job of controlling connected peripherals and sending audio to my AVR when needed
* Good selection of apps and smart features
* Amazing value, decent remote, great connectivity options and easy wall mount

The negatives are:

* Black levels could be better and there is some backlight bleed (though it is only visible on largely black screens such as credits and doesnt bother me in any other situation - texture and shadows are ok but black screen looks a bit bad)
* Quite a high input lag (means you cant use TV and AVReceiver audio simultaneously in my experience - if you ever wanted to)
* The Satellite input is quite annoying since it sees so many of the Freesat channels that it takes AGES to sort through them into a nice order and I ended up going back to Freeview HD which was easier and virtually the same.
* Could be a bit slimmer if you are wall mounting (I did but its on a pivot so doesnt cause a problem)

Overall really chuffed with my purchase and would happily recommend it. It certainly not a top of the range Sony (which I thought was the best picture) but for the price it is outstanding. Will it last 10 years, who knows! The quality of electronics inside could be fine or terrible, but Im happy taking a gamble given the points above (especially as 4-5 years later there will be a much better choice of 4k TVs..)

Hisense emailed me with a link for HDR updated firmware after asking when I would get it over the air.
So I updated the tv to version 919 and and fired up Gears of war 4 pressed info on the tv and it displayed
3840 x 2160 @ 60hz HDR and it looked awesome.

Give him more than an hour! Thats totally not fair otherwise!

Besides I was also told by Hisense that if you do OTA updates then you will automatically get OTA updates in future, while manual upgrades may not. Whether it is true or not I decided to wait for the OTA update just to save any future faff, and it gave me a nice surprise when it arrived!

Sorry, for the delay had other things to do. I will try to answer any questions people may have
When you un archive the file it should be upgrade_loader.pkg I had to un archive the file twice. seems it
was an archive inside of an archive.

Try 2429, think that should work for you.

Can't get the update to kick in.. Sit with standby button pressed switch TV back on and nothing....

will it upscale the standard xbox one signal? Or do you have to have the 'one s'

Would this pants for gaming?

Yes not great for gaming, due to the input lag... I havent investigated it much to see if there are solutions, but I think it would be something that would be a dealbreaker for gaming use.
