Nasty contrast? Unless you don't watch TV during night/late evening .....proper lighting or led strip behind tv can help with it but it won't magically disappear
Any good for a gaming on ps4?
tv in the bedroom, true chav behaviour

The contrast on these isn't that bad. It's not like it's an IPS panel.

That's vastly over exaggerated but I get your point. The panel on this TV is VA, which has significantly better black levels and contrast than an IPS type panel. The actual contrast ratio is around 5000:1 which is more than adequate without bias lighting.

IPS panels (such as those on LG TV's) have poor black levels and contrast at around 1000:1, which would lead to blacks that are more of a dull grey colour.

At the end of the day, the only TV's with pure black levels and infinite contrast are OLED's, which are around 4x plus the price of this TV.

Bought it from last HUKD offer for kid's bed room. TV picture is nice, no problem at all. Only down side is it doesn't have built in NOWTV and Disney+, but a Nowtv Box solved all the problems.

ok how about slobby?
Question for all TV experts - my TV has literally gone up in smoke tonight (6 yr old 32" Samsung). Have no idea now what features to look for in a new one. People mention different panels from different manufacturers.. how u know which panel they use? Are there manufacturers to avoid? What are the must haves eg 4K, HDR, HD, 100hz...? Help! Can u still get 37" or is it 32 or 40" ? Overall want best possible quality for reasonable price. Any suggestions?
