Of course it didn't help his decision. Your post was nothing more than a thinly-veiled "I'm smarter than you." You didn't actually share any information.

I sent my girlfriend to return the 55" Philips cow and come back with a 49" Panasonic like my brothers new one because it was just so much better, instead she came back with magic beans / the 55" version of this brand I'd never heard of. Point being I'm amazed with it, watching the last episode of Gotham on it was the same if not better than the Panasonic one saw as the benchmark. Brillaint TV at a bargain price, kinda like the Xiaomi phones.
Also Ps4 and Now tv look great on it (the Philips tv couldn't seem to stream very well), also tried my wii u on it, very nice colours
heat! Anyone tried this model? Good?
Unknown maker - cold.

(I have the 55 and it's very good! :p)
Does this one have HDR

The Panasonic was probably a Vestel model so I'm not surprised.

i have the 40 " of this and its a very good make german brand name they are the official sponsors of the euro 2016 along with 20 others no doubt but i found it very good only downside was the smart functions as its a german make is all german even if you switch it to english which is easy it still has a german app store instead of google play
is this TV 4k please?
I bought the 43inch hisense that Argos were selling cheap for my parents as their TV had stopped working. Very impressed with the picture quality and nearly as good as my own Sony Bravia. Only problem I've found is I have to keep explaining how to use it as they are both in their eighties. Whenever I pop round they always have it on regular BBC/itv rather than HD, and I keep saying "channels 101-105 not 1-5". Do they listen? Do they 4k!
Back on topic, great telly for the price.

HiSense TV's are Chinese, made in China by a Chinese company...

Sound like you got a TV that was headed for German retail but hit the UK instead..

If you go into settings, set contrast near the maximum, brightness somewhere around the middle, colour saturation as high as it is possible without making the human skin tones too red, sharpness low and then switch off all the postprocessing that smoothens motion/enhances resolution (and makes everything look like a soap opera), then almost any tv will give you a good looking picture.
is this hdr
Hisense would be perfect for everyone in my opinion very cheap and good quality build, if they could just solve the little problem with the sensor for the remote seems like its got to be pointed at in a straight line and just 10 meters away from the tv other than that I'd recommend them to anyone.
I wish Amazon would sort their reviews out. I'm not sure that any of the reviews actually relate to this model. The Top Positive and Top Critical reviews both relate to the 65" model. Other reviews are for the 50" and 55" models. The product description is also wrong stating.. "Product Description - The Hisense 49 inch UHD Smart LED TV has a 1080p screen resolution projects images in true-to-life with a crystal-clear colours."
Surprised the deal isn't hotter.. specs look super:

Tempted also for stream/cast/hevc, but my 8 year old panasonic plasma still going strong.

is this hdr

No, it would say in the description if it was as that's a big feature. Need to spend a bit more to get hdr. Some reviews say that 4k TVs don't look that much better than 1080p without hdr.
It's a rabbit hole though as I now want quantum dot TV which gets you in the >£1,000 territory but meant to be closer to oled quality...
So tempted

Yeah I keep on seeing Hisense sponsorship at all the games on TV along with some Azerbaijani energy company. Not sure I want to switch from E-on though.
What is the sound like on this tv, will it need a sound bar?
Cheers op, looking to replace TV in front room, but don't want a massively big one!
Any good for gaming??
Really want a deal on the 55!

Don't know if these are like my Panasonic but had the same issue as you so on the Panasonic in the settings you can 'move' the channels. So I swapped the normal 1-5 with the 101-5 and bingo back to 'normal'
Decent tv, great price

well it's purely a personal preference and some people may not need the additional connections but apart from the extra inch the 3300 has an sp/dif connector which i would use. it also has a headphone connector which i beleive the 49m3000 doesn't have which, again, i would use. the 3300 has 2x10w speakers as opposed to the 2x8w speakers on the 49inch model. and according to the hisense website the 3300 has a built in subwoofer which the 49inchm3000 doesn't have. again, these are things that i would use but it all depends on the individual. if you're just looking at picture quality then they're identical as far as i can tell.
Picked up the 43" 43M3000 yesterday from Argos. overall happy with it for £299. Slight niggles for those that are bothered, EPG and changing between channels is a bit laggy. also not sure if its my basic aerial signal but notice very minot picture stutter when viewing freeview HD. That said 1080P mkv played crisp and clear from usb., 4K from youtube was crystal and overall for the money very pleased. would have gone 49" but maybe a tad excessive for kitchen/diner. :-)

So tempted anyone have this exact model? Specs do look great. I want it for movies and gaming (see my other threads). This is only £35 more than the 43" version I was about to get from Argos. What to do? Any Amazon discount codes?
