My Sony panel broke after 5 years - not sure what people’s average is but the tv cost me £70 a year which isn’t bad. I’ve got an new one under warranty so any years I get out of this is a bonus.

I’d be happy to try one of these if it costs me less. As long as the panel lasts
Ordered the 43in version for my sons birthday next week. It was recommended as the best value 4k TV by tech radar and had good reviews on Argos and Richer sounds so can't be that bad. Too many brand snobs about these days

Exactly! Give smaller brands a chance!
Oh dear..... it’s always embarrassing when you have to explain a joke, think I’ll just leave it....😏

If you’re after a budget large screen the Chinese panels are pretty hard to beat for value for money. 4K, HDR, 6 years cover and £300! 🏽

If not OLED then not worth it. And you need minimum 4 HDMI inputs these days at least

Why are you even comparing a £300 TV to a £1000+ OLED? Totally different market. Some people.havent got £1000 to spend on a car let alone a TV.

Yes OLED produces the best picture, with pure blacks but it doesn't handle motion as well as some cheaper LED tvs I own. Factor in screen burn so you can't watch news channels, sky sports, play video games for long periods of time, so all you're really getting is a very good picture and a load of anxiety.

And I have owned an LG B6 which had burn in twice, and now own an LG C8 so no, OLED isn't everything, and cheaper TVs like this are great.

Why do you need a minimum of 4 HDMI inputs?

I have 4 TV's and only use 2 of the ports on one TV.

Agree with the OLED anxiety. My brother in law obsesses over his LG OLED if someone switches the channel to something with logos or banners on it.

Even with screen burn...still gonna wait for prices to come down...worth the wait imo

They won't come down much more than they already have, and in my opinion it just isn't worth the hassle. I won't be getting another if this suffers burn in like the last 2

It's a nightmare. You have to turn the OLED brightness down whenever you watch something with a logo, or a banner just to keep your sanity.

LG quoted £1300 to replace the screen on my 55in B6 and ever since then I can't enjoy watching anything unless it's something without a logo like Netflix or Amazon prime

So do you not have a console, Firestick, sky and media player? I thought that was pretty basic for 2020 to fulfil your media consumption requirements.

Console yes, My Samsung has all the smart apps that I use, and I use a hard drive. I've got a fire stick but it doesn't get much use.

I have no need for Sky, as I watch most of my TV via either Freesat or internet services.

I doubt that most people have a top of the range OLED TV and still require a fire stick and media player.

Sky you need for sky sports and misc foreign channels in my case. In also have a nintendo classic for retro gaming and a chromecast for my google ecosystem. So i actually need about 6 tbh. I'm surprised you don't need more than 2

Good for you, but not everybody is the same, everyone has different needs.

By the way, my Samsung, Hisense and Toshiba's all play my various media files without an issue, including H.265 4K MKV's with HDR.

All your tellys are known to have limited file support..., look at the reviews.
My media player on the other hand will play and record anything I throw at it in any format...F4V, Vob, .Ogv, .mng, wmv, svi, flv, mkv.....

"Everyone has different needs" - For a man with 3 tvs and potentially circa 9 HDMI inputs (3tvs x 3 HDMIs). That's quite a generous need!

I'm not really sure what point you are trying to make.

You clearly require more than 4 HDMI ports. I don't need 4 HDMI ports. Apologies if that's offensive to you.
