Where is it £699?
According to Av forums only 3 x hdmi and no optical out which is less than the N6800 , good reduction on its previous price though

No optical out on a thousand quid telly, serious?

According to their review , I haven’t see the ports myself so can’t confirm . I was considering the N6800 and saw deals on this but review put me off , went with LG B7 in the end - yes it’s a lot more £ but the picture really is amazing. It may not have the nits of some led’s but with pure black I don’t think it needs them and there no eye strain due to OT brightness ,and given my 3 year old Hisense Tv has a better picture than my local odeon I think it’s all academic and should be based on what you see rather than what looks better on paper

I have this rather unpleasant attitude to anything Lucky Goldstar and have done for decades, even when the 3DO launched however long ago that was I bought the Panasonic one because GoldStar was just two bob end of

I fully acknowledge with a heavy heart the company have come on leaps n bounds since then but I won't ever allow myself to buy any of their gear. So the fact they manufacture every OLED panel out there determines I will be exclusively in the LED market only.

Me and Mrs Loyal have been eyeballing for a new bedroom telly at the right price since the summer. To be honest it's been focused on the Samsung 55 inch Q7 or Q8 dropping to our biting point.

Anything below four digits will probably be 'job done' and seeing we get 12% off at JL that time is fast approaching but she has been seduced by that ambilight of the Philips POS9002

POS is rather apt considering Philips is another brand pet hate of mine seeing I took a bit of a slap at a European Cup game in Eindhoven many years ago. Of course then add it's got a Lucky Goldstar panel inside and I'm not having it but she is beginning to dig her heels in, she wants that telly because it will make the bedroom "pretty" when watching the real two bob housewives of pony county

I don't need yet another person preaching the wonders of OLED, thank you for your input but it's not been gratefully accepted

I have to admit I do like ambilight although wouldn’t but a Philips tv , no good reason why though, and unfortunately now my son has gone to uni no longer have the benefit of the JL discount.
I used a new customer discount to get the B7 from very for 1349 although only with a years guarantee rather than five available elsewhere , the Samsung Q series look nice but are seriously over priced , a cynic might say qled was chosen as it looks like oled

Way way way overpriced at launch but they have dropped nicely over the course of the last 10 months or so. We got a 65 inch XE9005 the week it launched in the front room, on our second one now though seeing the original one got infested with a load of tiny bugs after a storm late last summer

So even more determined to go with another manufacturer for the bedroom because of that and I must admit aesthetically last year's Samsung Q range are stunning so was half won over before even doing any homework on them.

That POS 9002 has been very well received so I'm resigned to the fact if we not managed to get one of either of those two Samsungs by the time it has a significant price drop she may end up getting her way. You are far more likely to watch a bedroom telly in complete darkness than you are a front room one so OLED makes far more sense.

Extremely nice that partner discount you get with JL and Waitrose isn't it what branch did your son work in?

My B7 is in a relatively light room with windows behind and the picture is bright enough , ( the pure black makes so much difference) during the day although don’t often use it during daytime except weekends if kids on the Xbox . Son worked at Waitrose in Godalming , saved a fortune with the JL discount
i seriously considered the xe9005 as it gets great reviews, picture is superb

It is a very nice telly and talking of top discounts you get we weighed on about 1800 for it in one of the twice yearly JLP extravaganza events, it's the one due in March/April time that I am hanging around for in the hope we'll be able to pick up either the Q7 or even better the Q8 at a bargain price in!

Ahh you from Guildford way, blimey must be 25 years since I was last down that way is that clothes shop Ikon still going?

Funnily enough earlier on I took a pic of the telly we got in the bedroom at the moment for another thread so you can see it's pretty light in there, even with the back blind down(the one behind the camera you can't see) but it don't really matter as we very rarely watch telly or me game up there during the daytime anyway.

I am pretty sold, well extremely sold, on one of these two QLED's and even talking about it makes me more twitchy wanting to pull the trigger now which will work out just under £1150 for the Q7 but I must employ self control, trust my instinct and wait for it to become available at under a grand

An extra £40 for delivery to N. Ireland unfortunately or I may have bitten
I'm biting at this price.
Has anyone purchased this TV yet to give an honest hotukdeals review?
Not many reviews around, free people on avforums and their own personal review of the tv.
£699.99 at John Lewis now
I seriously recommend this TV...absolute amazing detail and clarity. I got this in the bundle deal at John Lewis (The LG SJ5 soundbar & NU8700).
Now, I am not for one moment suggesting I am a professional calibrator, a know-all on all things TVs, however, this TV is light years away from my previous Samsung - it looks fantastic.
Few pics of my TV in action... Taken with a Samsung S8 in a very brightly lit room.
