On the other hand they are the fifth largest supplier of TV's in the World - but true to say that the UK is a new market for them.

That's a fair point as a few years ago Lenovo was a brand no one outside of China had heard of. Still If I was spending this money on 4K it would be a big brand name like LG, Samsung...

I know where you are coming from but personally I am happy with the reputation of this Company outside the UK - it's a great buy at this price if you can get one!

I will post a review on my blog once it arrives for anyone that is interested - websurfaces.co.uk (you will notice my previous bad luck in this area - but this device looks to be a better buy!!!)

went on waiting list and got one! Great buy, I am happy to take the risk with Hisense they are a very large tech company, just new in UK. Like the fact that no tuner present, have VM and Fire TV. Shame about HDMI 1.4 but I will probably be streaming 4K anyway so not an issue.

If anyone wants one of these, join the waitlist, you may well get one,it took about 3 mins for one to become availible- I didnt buy it so there is at least 1 availible to buy !

Currently back to 74% sold. It looks like not everyone has checked out.

If you missed it, you can also get it … If you missed it, you can also get it here:http://finlux.co.uk/smart-tvs/65-inch-smart-tv-freeview-hd-65fte242s-t/invt/65fte242s-t

That's not 4k.

Not even the same make (I think Finlux are Fins, Hisense from China). The Finlux also has a tuner built in so is classed as a 1080p TV rather than a 4K Monitor

Just curious....what 4k sources are available to use on this? obviously you could render PC games at 4k but are there any true 4k video sources?

Anyone know anything about this brand ?

Mine arrives Wednesday too. As for 4K sources, I downloaded some demos plenty on the net, youtube has plenty, Netflix streaming 4K (for a premium) Amazon Prime due to stream 4K (without premium) so its happening. But hey a Grand for 65" set is great even without 4K (a good bonus though) plus a voucher for a free Hisense Tablet!

I'm with you - it's a great price for a 1080p 65" set let alone 4k. I too have downloaded some Youtube 4k videos (my connection isn't fast enough to stream over the web). Also waiting on an update for my old Lumia 1520 phone which will give it 4K video recording |(supposedly due later this month?). I have Amazon PRIME but suspect I don't have enough bandwidth for 4k streaming.

There is a good FAQ on 4K video here for anyone interested:

and a bit about HiSense here:

i didn't know you got a voucher for a table where did it say that

are you planning to hang it o the wall?

Original Poster

The tablet deal is for their Sero 8" Android tablet - worth around £80 I think. Details from hisense.co.uk/sup…tre

I'm not planning on hanging it on the wall initially, though it is light enough to make this practical.

Mine will be freestanding initially, just remembered I ordered a LG G3 the other day I think that has 4K Video capability. BTW read a poor review on an Australian forum (Whirlpool I think) the only review, Picture stunning but the Android OS a bit clunky, but you do get Google Play store so endless supply of apps. The OS takes a while to boot apparantly. This does not put me off as I have a few Chinese Android Sticks with clunky Android OS navigation, and I would imagine that Hisenese will be keen to update the firmware (hopefully) willing to accept some compromises for the price.

bought a hisense set, 50" Plasma (one of the last 1360*768 sets i could find) about 7 years a go, a few problems last year opened it up to find it was all samsung inside, great picture and ok build.
ps its gone up to £1500 now so better expire

up at £899.99 lighting deal so act fast ive bought one

Wow £899, guess this is going to be the price to beat in the future!
