EDIT: I managed to get John Lewis to price match it online (in-store wouldn't have it, "not in stock"...)

Love the look of this but the missus would kill me if I bought it so it would be a complete waste of money....;)
Hisense company are terrible - cold wouldn't even pay £500
So tempting. Also available at John Lewis I believe, but would need a go at price matching as their price is £1399. would be interested to know of anyone tries this, as this set could be 'The One'.
Doesn't really seem that long ago I paid £1200 for a Phillips 32PW9525 FST 32" CRT with NICAM.
£999 seems expensive now though

Reviews are generally favourable. Nevermind this specific TV, can you find ANY other 65" 4K TV that's better than this, for a grand? Then please tell me where!
This is a brilliant deal actually.

Just not true.

They've been buying up electronics companies and have just released their own new technology to rival OLED, called ULED, that offers similar performance for a fraction of the cost. They've been demoing it at electronics conventions by standing it right next to LG's flagship OLED TVs and are starting to get some very favourable reviews.

Just got a price match too. They said they will price match to £1029.98 due to the £29.99 standard delivery fee from Crampton & Moore.

I thought the same but doing research the past few weeks shows a very different story. They are the 4th biggest manufacturers of TV's in the world and as such are dedicating a great deal of investment to new technology. I think the fact that the likes of John Lewis are selling them says something, not sure what but definitely something, OK they are not a household name yet but who knows, this time next year it might be a very different story.

How long normally does it take to get a reply for a price match request? When I submitted the request the TV was in stock and now oos

It took approximately 2 hours for me to get the price match response - but I submitted the request at around 1pm... can't wait to receive it! Hope you manage to get the match offer too!
Any on-line reviews for this set ?
Any good for gaming on ?

I read on AV forums that they have high input lag, but that a firmware update has been released to fix it when the "gaming mode" is enabled.

Even so, I doubt it's going to be great for gaming, but who knows... I will only receive my TV in 10 days, so can't test it before that

That's unfortunate, but still a great price really - don't let that £50 difference put you off, that's well worth the 5 year warranty John Lewis gives you in my opinion!

Good point. Agreed
I am off to view the TV in the nearest JL store
I ordered this morning, JL price match that I received yesterday.

Was considering the 58 inch version, thought that the hike up in price of the 65 was too high to justify.

But discounted down to £999 with a 5 year warranty too good an offer to turn down, just have to wait for a couple of weeks now (chosen delivery date).
Seriously considering buying one of these, any reviews of any one that got one?
Me too.
Whats the 3d like on these. Can it be viewed from any angle or do you have to sit in the centre of the tv.

I delayed my delivery since I only just got the keys to my new flat, so only receiving it on Monday, but there's a bunch of people over at AV Forums that have ordered them too, and a couple of reviews there.

I have been looking at this, I have Amazon prime and they are doing HDR 4K, is it worth waiting for HDR prices to drop a little?

A lot of articles think it's important 4k.com/a-c…-2/

Afraid I can't help you with that. I think AV Forums is a much better place to have that conversation (nobody looks at this "old" deal any more :p).

I think you have to make a decision whether your need for a new TV is now. A LOT of manufacturers promise HDR software updates on their current lineups, don't trust any of them to deliver it...

Ok,,thank you, did you read the link, quite interesting.
i hope this tv drops back to this price this weekend!
This T V at £999 is an absolute steal. I paid £1425 for it 3 months ago from Crampton and Moore. The picture is great after spending ages adjusting the terrible out of the box settings. Where can you find a better 65" 4K for anywhere near the price of the Hisense. It is fully future proof with HDMI 2.0 and H.265. I would buy it again and can recommend it.

I bought it when I posted this deal, but asked for delivery 2 weeks later due to moving. Still haven't had time to set it up properly, but very happy with it already. the software is not great, but we'll see what happens when they finally release their promised update. worst case, I'll just get an Amazon Fire TV...
