Original Post by NeoTrix had expired, but code 4K10 now active again.

All Credit to NeoTrix, I'm just helping share what I think is a good deal.

Hisense H49M3000 49" Smart 4K Ultra HD TV - Black - Here - £341.10

Hisense H43M3000 43" Smart 4K Ultra HD TV - Black Here - £296.10 (I think the cheapest it's ever been now)

Brill specs on these two models. Very similar all round apart from the obvious screen size differences there is just the slight difference in speaker output. The 49" has 16 Watt speakers whereas the 43" carries 14 Watt speakers. I'm guessing most folks here won't be overly fussed about that and many will probably use their own speaker set up.

Hisense are really churning out some decent sets lately, it's pretty hard to turn them down after looking at reviews as well. I used to have one back in 2008ish and at that point you very rarely saw them around. It lasted for ages, we only upgraded because we wanted a bigger screen. Comes with 2 Year Manufacturers warranty to boot, again... another plus point for sure.

I'm not smart enough to figure out how to do that, if someone could assist I agree that would be best.

I got the 49" version while it's great value the panel isn't that great. It has a lot of grain especially in dark scenes and older movies. This isn't true for our other 4K TV. Maybe it's the upscaling but even with native 4k content it's quite grainy.

Not really 4k if the viewing is so limited

What do you mean...? It has YouTube and Netflix 4K support natively I believe, and can accept 4K input HDCP2.2 compliant on all 4 HDMI sockets...?

Maybe you are referring to the mythical HDR firmware updates...?

Using Overwatch on the training range and aiming feels super floaty at 4k so there must be a fair bit of latency at that res. Feels as good as my monitor at 1080p though.

I feel like I've been watching people claim proper HDR support is coming via an update... For years!

The discount code seems to be for TVs over 399 quid.

Grain, as in more detail? If so, that would be a good thing.
Noise reduction gets overly used these days.

Here's another link with alot of questions answered etc...
Bought back then from the argos deal and I'm well impressed with both picture and sound.
View angles are the only thing really that could be better but that's being picky.

should I purchase one is the question. I'm looking for a new TV and this appears to be a good deal. so do I take the plunge?

Are we allowed to post information from another forum?

There is an owner who claims to have updated their firmware on one of these tv's which enabled hdr via hdmi. The owner also posted an image showing all ticks in the xbox one s 4k settings page.

Wasn't that for the M3300 model? I'm sure the update will come for this soon to do the same.

Not more detail, the grain effect is not visible on my newer hisense TV which is also 4K. I watched a black and white film on this 49" one and the quality was horrible, the grain was very very noticable. I have noise reduction turned off and even when it's on its rubbish. I'm just informing others of my experience with the TV and I kinda wish I had spent the extra for a better one. But this is still tremendous value

I get exactly the same with overwatch. At 4k the input lag is quite apparent with that and a lot of games while some I don't really notice. However at 1080p It feels great.

The firmware for HDR over HDMI is now out on the French site for the m3300 model. It works fine on my 43" set. You place the update on a usb stick, fat32 and turn the tv on whilst holding the power button until software update appears. Takes about five minutes to do its thing and works ok with the new Xbox. It's killing my dp to hdmi 2 adapter, 60Hz perhaps because of the lack of bandwidth now 4:4:4 chroma is working.

How will this be with the new ps4, will it be compatible? Worth picking up for it?

yea it was that model, people mentioned on there that they are similar. it was enough to convince me an update will be coming so i pulled the trigger and ordered yesterday.

For those interested in using it as PC monitor: no chroma 4:4:4 at 4k 60Hz. 30Hz works fine.

For what it's worth I emailed Hisense regarding the firmware update and they said

"A firmware update for this model is currently being rolled out which we expect to be complete by the end of this month."

Acceptable, they said several large scratches on the screen, but when the TV arrived I can barely find even a single scratch. only a tiny one on the bottom of the screen, impossible to notice once powered the TV on.
Very happy of the purchase so far, 240 quid for a 49 inch 4k smart TV, hell yeah!!
