Any info to persuade me?
Dont know anything about this brand

Im more than happy with my 65 inch Hisense, i see them very much as an 8/10 brand that offers a generally good compromise between price and quality.

This is my personal experience with this tv.
A friend recently purchased one and asked me to put it onto her wall and set it up.
I had heard of Hisense through hukd's and had read good things about it.
After it was up and running i began the setup and tuning process and finally got to use the tv.
Going from 1 channel to the next was quite slow, probably 3-4 seconds a time.
But the smart features were so slow it was shocking.
Loading Netflix from say BBC1 takes about 20 seconds just to get to the splash screen then another 10 seconds to get to choose a film.
Other smart apps were also very slow.
The picture quality when watching HD channels wasn't very good either.
Like i say, my own personal experience, might be a faulty TV, i dont know.
All i do know is I would not purchase one.

Hisense = No sense

For the price it’s a good buy

I've got the 40" version and really like it. It has Amazon and Netflix built in and has a fantastic picture.

The slowness someone mentioned earlier is likely to be a firmware bug that when you connect the tv to the internet should update itself automatically.

The EPG isn't fast but it's not as slow as some have mentioned.

Combined with a sound bar the 4k is stunning.

There's lots of comments about Hisense on here and most are positive. Worth having a read and making your mind up.

My hisense is instant on Netflix

We have a 55" Hisense, and i there is no lag. bought it last year during Black Friday. Love it great TV

Tempted

Hmm will there be a better deal. Choices choices...

I think I am going to take a punt on this. I have a £400 budget and ideally want 43” or more. Was tempted by the N5700 and N5750 from richer sound but not sure whether they are a big step up from this N5500.

This is now down to 329 in currys

I dont think your personal experience is based on the TV maybe with a crappy WIFI connection. I've got this TV (and another Hisense) and Netflix loads instantly.... Great looking 4K too. Doesnt have the problems with the PS4 Pro athat a lot of the so called big name TVs did either!

Oh and Hisense probably outsell most of the others world wide... So I'd ignore the other baseless opinions too. In my opinion of course.

Forget the price, it's a terrible tv. Shouldn't be allowed to label 4k, or HDR. Panel actually shows 1080p but get away with it because of chequerboarding. Also to get true HDR you need a wcg panel, which gives 10bit as opposed to this 8bit panel. It's a good tv for the price but is not what is advertised

It's a good tv for the price.

So which is it?! And for someone with a budget of under £450, can you recommend anything better? And I understand that all TV's at this price point aren't going to have 'true' HDR, so to criticise this one in particular is a bit harsh, right?...
