How do you get 'fake' RGBW panels? You just mean it's not RGB, nothing fake about RGBW, it is what it is.
Is this a better deal than the techwood 49" from AO as they would work out the same price after cashback.

Casual ps4 gamer
Watch hd and the odd blue ray
Will only have freeview
Will Use amazon firetv
Will sit 3-4 metres away at a slight angle.

I'm not bothered about true 4k but want a half decent picture with a good viewing angle, any help would be great as not a lot of money but tv needed.

Yeap, i got the 55in at xmas there for £409 delivered and it was well worth the cash, yes it is a 8bit panel but the picture is great, 4k is awesome, yes there are some very small niggles on stuff like the TV getting updates, but unless you have massive OCD and have a few thousands quid hiding down the back of the sofa for real overpriced 10 bit panels you can't go wrong with these TV's at these prices, well worth the money.

Hi guys. New to the site. Would you recommend that TV or Toshiba 49U6763 Same price £350 from richersounds.com/pro…tml
Bought this for £379 from Very when it was on offer for the nephews bedroom. Works really well with the PS4 Pro .
Can I ask those that own, how well does it scale the sd channels?
This might be the one. One review I found said it had input lag of less than 50ms, but does anybody else have any more info? Like does it have a game mode to improve that further?

EDIT: according to the Hisense site that <50ms time is in game mode. So for 'normal' play that's perfectly reasonable.

I got this when it was 379, excellent TV.

can anyone recommend an LG 49" that does not have RGBW panels - very hard to work out which ones are which. I do not need oled as LED is sufficient and I don't play games on it just watch TV (would like the magic remote though)
I don't understand the models and pricing as you can pay hundreds more and not see what you are getting (budget up to £1000)

How do you mean getting updates?
Yeah, agree the picture is stunning. Too clear at times
Is there any difference between this tv and the H49N5700UK?
I have one of this and I'm pretty happy for the price I paid for. The only downside I noticed in a movie, Dunkirk on 4k, I noticed a kind of ghost trail mark just after the planes on the blue sky. I'm not sure if it was the rip (265) or the TV itself, but it bothered me a bit. I also play on my ps4 (not the pro one) and it's flawless

Hisense do regular patching for their TV's, to fix vulnerabilities, add features (HDR was a good example)- you know pretty much how you'd update an iPhone really. It's good of them to do I think since they don't really have to do it and there's a fair share of "premium" manufacturers who won't do this.
Can't rate Hisense enough personally, paid £289 for a 43" 4K HDR TV- the sound wasn't the absolute best and sounded a bit tinny, solved by a £75 soundbar.
Not bad at all, but I can't stand the TV's that have those feet at each end instead of a central column. Your furniture/tv stand has to be at least as wide as the unit

If the last 3 digits of the model number are 850 or higher, you're fine. For example:

Don't know if theres a 49" version, cant be arsed to search
Code does not work at checkout? or is it marked at £349?

RGBW = fake 4K panel

Nearly all 4k TVs are fake since it refers to the horizontal screen resolution being 4096 pixels, and to maintain the aspect ratio with wide screen format (16:9) most "4k" TVs only have 3840 pixels. LG screens using RGBW do meet standards on 4k ultra HD resolution, and in all the tests I have seen, users have been unable to notice any difference in side-by-side tests.

It's like saying your car isn't a proper car because my car has a copy of Jugs Monthly under the passenger seat.

Meeting 4K standards with white sub-pixels... it's cheating, nothing more

Are you ok?

film resolutions are different to what the TVs have marketed as so 4k != 4k, however 4k on a tv is 3840 x 2160 so all 4k TVs will be this resolution.

The LG being 'fake' 4k is entirely true, they are sharing sub pixels and unlike their previous RGBW (OLED etc) these are not programmable so you actually lose resolution. You essentially end up with 3/4 of the resolution, you also get a very inconsistent brightness on the image and worse colours. There are some perfect world scenarios where you can achieve the 4k equivalent but in general usage this will not be possible .

If you cannot see the difference then you would be happy with any tv but most people will see this difference, its not the equivalent of getting an 'extra' item in your car... what a stupid analogy!

I mean according to AV forums the TV has never been updated to fix some minor issues with the tv apps which can be very sliggish at times and even crash out, and a few other small picture issues, but as i said, very very minor, and yes a cracking TV.
Thanks OP. Just ordered. The code HISENSE50 only works with the Hisense H49N5500 and not on the Hisense H495700 (Grey version). Got next day delivery too which is pretty awesome! Thanks! . Got 1.5% cash aback from Quidco too.
Is that on android?

A chance that the Toshiba TV could be made by “Vestel” or similar secondary manufacturers, I wouldn’t risk it compared to the Hisense.

Toshiba is just a rebadged Vestel TV. Poor build quality and they are just trying to use the Toshiba name to charge a premium. I would steer well clear. Hisense TV's are all made by them self and the panels seem good quality. I am seriously impressed with my H55N5500. It will be interesting to see where Hisense are in the next 10 years , many predict they will be the next Samsung or LG and sponsoring the World Cup this year wont come cheap..
How about the Samsung ue50me6120 is this 4k?
