Are Hisense TV's any good? Seems to be too cheap to be true...

For yer average punter they are actually ok.
I repair tellies and the Hisense arent as bad as folks make out.
A low/mid range telly is just a telly dont listen to the tv snobs they all fail because of the inherent bad design in the backlights!
Just keep the backlights down from 100% and dont keep it on 8hrs+ a day and you might make them last over 4-5 years!
Julian Richer is a clever guy the 6 year warranty is spot on!

Most folks just want to watch corrie or play games they are not bothered about 4k , hdr, hz so dont sweat it dude just spend what you can afford etc

The only thing i will say is bigger is better just ask my missus lol
She wont settle for anything less than 103" now since i got our Plasma telly in 2011!

ps just kidding mate.

I disagree that bigger is better with TVs. It depends on the room size. Personally I'd rather have a better 50" than a 55" that has a lesser frame rate, or brightness for example.

I'm saying this because I have a 55" TV that's rubbish, and wish I'd invested in a better smaller TV. That said it was £260 and the only TVs that were cheaper were much smaller at the time.

Nah i used to think that until i went to currys and saw them side by side and it blew my mind.
Got a 75 inch in the workshop at the mo and its beyond repair so the guy is going to let me keep it so the girlfriend is getting a 75" christmas pressie lol

Once you have played WOT or Star Wars Battlefront II or watched the footie or Die Hard in full 103" 1080p mind you will never say that again.

Yeah got the plasma on ebay £500 damaged but repaired it for £25 it has failed twice since i got it 5 years ago though but repaired it got to keep it from landfill!
They are quite common on ebay just if you are thinkin of going big its a Panasonic plasma 1080p usually go for around £500 damaged and £1000 new!

Question is will the missus let you lol

I actually saw you post a similar comment the other day on another thread I think. I'm not dissing your big TV by the way, I'm just saying it's circumstantial / preference. E.g. My TV is in a bright room and hard to see. So a brighter screen would be better rather than an extra 5 inch screen size. But I obviously don't mean comparing against a monster TV, as that wouldn't be a similar price. Plus 103" would be wasted in my room. 48-55 is perfect. 43 wouldn't look bad but, I wouldn't want to downsize.

p.s.
SW Battlefront 2 (2005) > SW Battlefront II (2017)

Yeah i was biggin myself up again soon as i mention the 65k folks get googlin lol
Even though its only 1080p and no 4k and took 5 guys to deliver it - shame the weight in the old plasmas even a 50 incher was mega heavy! And light reflections from the back window make it impossible to watch without closin the curtains grrrrr
Not all advantageous but the sheers size of games is what makes me keep it when I play SWBFII i am literally on Hoth under those AT AT Walkers lol!

SW BF II 2017 of course but I play World OF tanks more im up to Stug III level lol
Missus is a WOT demon she is on Tiger I great to have a burd that likes manly man games and she is just as immature as i am i am 21 and every day is my birthday haha

I hadn't googled it. It was the Battlefront 2 comment that caught my attention as much as the 103" part lol. Die Hard isn't exactly a definition HD experience.

Don't play WoT so you've lost me there but you take care on Hoth.

Funny how we're all different isn't it? I couldn't afford £65,000 for a car, never mind a TV, but if I did, I'm sure I'd be too busy working to play video games, or too busy taking time off work to travel and not watching my 103" TV Where is it? I'd love to see it in person.

The telly?
Its in ma lounge!
Nae probs yer welcome but im up here in Orkney so gonna be a bit of trek for ya but you can help me out as I usually go fishing for scallops on a Friday and doing a bit of sea casting!

I'm nowhere near Orkney. Stick a picture of Battlefront on here instead

Yeah they are a little laggy. Just get a 4k fire stick they're £30 at the moment.
No. Get a Hisense from JL or Richer Sounds tbh.. 5/6yr warranty.
What do these TVs look like displaying SD broadcast telly, that's what on mine most of the time for the kids and I will only use HD or 4K for a couple of movies a week and the odd but of console gaming.
A had UK600 kept saying couldn't read a had hdmi cables in it all the time no bad tvs other than that

mcgill32226/11/2019 22:13

How would this be for an xbox, game mode etc?

This seems to be an updated model of a6100 i bought last year and gaming is where the telly excels. Very low input lag and no ghosting/artifacts.
I got one from John Lewis with 5 yrs warranty, not a bad TV, simple set up, some pre-installed apps - youtube struggles with your own channel content, just remember it's only got one tuner so you can only record what your watching... not like smart boxes from ISPs that have multiple tuners.. so budget for a hard-drive to pause live broadcasts... other than that it's good for the money - shop around for a longer warranty
