Great deal kudos to OPThing is, wife wants ONLY Sony/Samsung/LG/Panasonic …Great deal kudos to OPThing is, wife wants ONLY Sony/Samsung/LG/Panasonic (ONLY top type Panasonic not vestel crap) for front roomThe best ones we can afford too - it'll be there for a LONG time, like the current Sony Bravia, 40" bought in May 2006 and its still as bright colours and excellent as it was then.BUT.....time moves on, and newly decorated, done out, new power points, (More than twice as many, some with usb) newly plastered, new windows room - new telly too ! I wouldn't mind this but the wife gets what the wife wants !

Does she pay for it? Or are you the main earner and she is leeching off you in which case grow a pair and get what you want. Preferably something bigger because 50inch is tiny.

I bought a 55" Samsung that just about fit in my Fiesta with the seats down so I think you should be OK!
Great deal kudos to OP

Assuming not nationwide seeing as it's a "Manager's Special". Might have to go and find out though... Was looking for a 55", but going from 43" to 50" seems like a decent enough increase, especially for this price!

Lol get her sent down the mines then, if she's wanting top top you're happy paying 3-4k on an oled then yeah?

These hisense see ones get nothing but good feedback

Used to be a pioneer fan but that ended when plasmas did. I bought a 400quid 55" non smart lg TV from richer sounds and I must say we're more than happy with it. If I was in the market for a new TV I'd likely be looking at 60-65" offerings and the hisense on display in Costco does look vv good

good. Chinese contender against the giants and doing rather well at it.
Although other have said it's only an 8-bit panel, would this still be good for an Xbox One X? Thinking of getting one at one point but would like to have a decent TV to go with it.

I'd never heard of them before but I was looking for a TV around the same time as the World Cup and saw a Hisense 49" for £318 or Finlux " for £309. I went for the Hisense since I'd never heard of either of them but Hisense were the main sponsors of the World Cup which imo put extra weight behind their brand.
The TV is brilliant for it's price and I don't have a bad word to say about it

Is it definitely the same one? Do you have a picture?
I don’t no, there was plenty of them I did see that and the ultra 4K
Can someone please tell me if UHD is HDR or has HDR?
Nibblez5 h, 58 m ago

I've a Hisense. Absolutely fantastic!

I got the 55N5500 recently on an ebay code from Hughes for £343 delivered. Absolutely cracking TV. HDR is 8bit + FRC as is to be expected at this price but there's a very clear difference when viewing Netflix with and without.
PQ overall is very good, no light bleed, blacks are not grey, colours vivid and punchy. Remote even has dedicated buttons for Netflix, Amazon Video, Youtube and Freeview Play. Also has a satellite input but no Freesat, so you get a generic EPG there. 2 year warranty from Hisense on all their TVs now. Only disappointment is sound but most LED TVs have that issue.

Overall this is a fantastic price for the 50N5300.
Heated.

Don't get a Sony I paid £1000+ for a 4k model last year. Its garbage. The processer/ ram isnt powerful enough to run the TV smoothly. Apps don't work correctly and there is no support from sony. The only thing they did do was to do an update which added more features, which slowed down the TV even move and made some sets stay in a turning on loop. My 1080p 10 year old Samsung is still going strong in the living room and the Sony demoted to the bedroom. Worse purchase iv ever made
I got the 55M7000 and that didn't fit in my DS3. it would have out of the box though.
