Why are they so keen to rid themselves of this tv

Might there be a new model due soon, or this has been discontinued?
55 inch with Dolby vision for under 400, that's amazing, HEAT!
I would like the 50" 55" is too big for my room, still oos...
great price heat added
Just ordered

Been hovering over the 43" & 65" 7100 from Richer Sounds the last couple of days. Should be fine for bedroom tv
£60 NI delivery wtf
had this tv a few months now, price keeps tumbling!
It was £479 when I bought but a pricing error managed to get for £379 from here.
I have to say I am impressed, well worth this price!
I was hoping I could side load apps but cant! The iptv app works well as does plex and prime. Kids love button for youtube, do not have netflix to try.
Picture great, watched the film yesterday and could not fault the pic, the sound also really good.
Went for this model due to the bluetooth but was hoping to use for android games but as mentioned no side loading of apps.
It is full of features for smoothing motion etc but with all of them on and running the picture is awful, judders. I found turning it all off made this watchable we as before I think I would have had to look at returning!
My only negative is viewing angles when off centre are very poor, strange when compared to my very old Tosh.It also is chuncky.

how off center do you have to be for it to be bad? and what about it being high on a wall?
mine is wall mounted so slightly looking up but pic is fine looking upwards.
I would say when I stand about 5 foot either side from the centre the colours go very washed out, it is watchable but obvioulsy not great.
Good low to mid TV at a very good price with the 5 year warranty HOT...

It's "chunky" because it's a DLED panel, which is imo better than edge lit. Worth the chunkiness for a better overall picture.

That's because it's a VA panel. VA has better contrast and colour ratio than an IPS panel, which has better viewing angles but doesn't pop colours like this will when watched face on.
is this any better than a £300 4k samsung of 2016 era

fancy going up to a bigger tv than 40" for the bedroom

Clicking the link above I see the price is £599 on John Lewis website now.
i bought this tv the other day... however the "backlight control" setting - choosing off, low, medium, or high backlight makes absolutely no difference to the brightness of the image. Is this tv defective? Or is it supposed to be like this.

What do you mean? Is it normal that it makes no difference to the picture setting? I'm just looking to set the backlight to off as i don't like it in general. I'm just worried because i can't set it that it's stuck on "low" or some other sub-optimal setting.

Do you mean the brightness dynamically changes depending on the content, no matter the settings?
