have this very model and updated it with a French update. it does indeed have hdr. it's fantastic for the price tho I've read a lot of folk complaining about AO. I bought mine from amazon for £525 odd.

how does normal 1080p look upscaled to 4k on this set please

Doesnt the tv download the hdr update directly or do you have to install from a usb from another region.

Just quick format your USB (fat32) Go to the link below and click the link on section 2 to start the download, put it on the USB stick. Switch your TV off on the power button underneath then hold standby on the remote whilst switching the power button back on until you see the firmware flash has started. Make yourself a cuppa and wait 10-15 mins before it completes... simple

The above comes from avforums.com/thr…-28

Did mine tonight and works perfectly.

HDR files look amazing.

The French firmware is the same release as the UK that is currently rolloing out, but I gave up waiting.

Mine is the H50m3300.

it's actually very good. you have to much about with the settings to get the best picture. I have a Samsung 4k 48 inch im anorher room and it was similar tho not as fiddly to get right. however if you are interested in this TV get over to the m3300 forum on AV forums. it has 25 pages of info and questions about the set.

it really is fantastic for the price.

yeah I did the same for the 55 inch m3300. make sure your usb pen drive tho isn't 64gb or above. I had issues with 64gb being read by the TV. but the 32gb was read without a hitch. similar issues were Spoke about on AV forums.

I have a Samsung 48 inch 4k TV. but I moved it as I wanted a bigger TV. quality is not really much better but I paid 700 for the Samsung and it is 4k as well. if I had to choose between the 2 it's the hisense. but that's because it was 200 cheaper and is bigger.

Is there much difference between the 50" and 55" models they have for sale except from the size?
Could you tell the difference in sizes?

thanks mate

I also have this TV and couldn't be happier. The picture quality is great regardless of whether it's off Sky or DVD player etc. For anyone looking to connect via surround sound Amp, the TV supports a CEC function which means you can connect to your amp via HDMI instead of an optical cable.

I'll wait for the UK release of the HDR firmware. Can anyone confirm if it'll be able to HDR upscale Sky? Or does the source have to be HDR in the first place?

no my sky q is still what it was. when you have the picture selection of standard cinema dynamic you now have a further option of HDR but it's greyed out unless it's a HDR source.

Well would prefer not to buy from AO but gone ahead. Seems they don't deliver on Fridays in my area at all. Had to get it sent to my parents house. Hoping it will fit in the car (Mazda 6 saloon) otherwise I'm stuck. Does anybody know what size the box is so I can measure the car in the morning?

Cheers. Not actually as big as I thought. 99% sure it will fit without even measuring.

Well just measured the dining table which is nearly as big and fitted in the car easily (it's a pretty big car). I'll get a photo but will be pretty boring. It might be far more amusing seeing it I can get it in the Citroen C1! I'll see if I can get it in the C1 just for lolz.

Following for pictures of this in a C1 LOL! hopefully it involves some paracord tie-down motorway driving.

Also wondering this. If it's not, could anybody tell me ... What is the approximate starting price today for a hdr, 10-bit panel, 4k TV? (42 inches minimum)

Can you get this on a interest free pay monthly plan like pay in 3 installments?.

No, it's 8bit.

The UK update is here people with different dated models have been getting it ..as for the French update it's identical to the British one

Liking the sound of all this but is 55" too big for the bedroom...?!?! Stop it, filthy minds!

Blasphemous

you'll love it

Must admit, my HE65K5510 does a an excellent job at up-scalling SD content, it actually looks better than the branded 60inch 1080p set that it replaced. Not used the inbuilt tuner but a source from a Sky Q mini box.

Mine got the update on Thursday night, I must admit I've had to tweak brightness and Contrast settings as the picture was noticeably darker post update - but at least it now has an HDR option in the picture mode selection.

I've had this TV for a month and its amazing.

I'm currently installing the update (HDR) via the French firmware.

Here's a photo... Tried to get my new Xbox One S in the shot for scale to help others determine the size of this TV.

EDIT: swapped photo for a video!
