Good for... watching tv under normal household circumstances and playing FIFA / wii (yes, we still do) games with the kids.

Good for netflix and movies - for those of us who dont really care if the screen isnt printed by men called ‘wilmot’ and hisense didnt spend a billion dollars on r&d.

Want a tv with average sound? This is the tv for you. Heck - buy a couple of speakers if your ears are supersensitive ...

But for normal people who dont watch a huge amount of tv - whats not to like.

Isn't this the same specifications as yesterday 50 inch hisense tv deal? Or is there any difference?

Yeah i know what you mean. Was tempted by the currys one at £1800 - but not sure we watch enough tv to justify it. But £450 seems a good deal. Cant see too much cheaper happening on black friday.

Will wait and see

Will be cheaper on Black Friday. Not worth rushing in just yet.

Picked up - picture looks fine to me.

If its cheaper on black friday then i potentially lose ‘a few quid’ - but i’m not convinced it will

You know what... i’m really pleased with it. Its hanging on the wall now.

Easy to set-up - connects to wifi. Got a 3.5mm audio jack so hooked it up to the stereo for a deeper sound.

The sound from the tv is pretty average - but sufficient.

You read all these threads about pic quality and sound etc etc - but i think the average person wont really care... the lad is playing some xbox game on it and he thinks its good... the younger 2 watched some shrek halloween thing on netflix and there was no buffering with wifi etc etc.

Its a decent size screen for what is quite a big lounge we have.

And certainly as good as the 60” screen it replaced due to a 2 year old deciding to throw a rock at it.

I dare say if it was next to a super-duper screen you’d notice a big difference - but it aint. It’s in a lounge and the picture looks good

I’m pleased with it.

Thanks for the feedback, good thing you didn't get the £1800 one with your 2yr old throwing rocks. I keep telling mine off for picking up rocks from the fireplace suite but I might have to change that as I need an excuse to buy a new TV

I do think these will be sub £400 on prime day or that you could get better model for the same price but, if like you, it's needed now then this is a decent price.

Can you use the code instore at all?

Its this bloody ‘shropshire rocks’ thing - kids decorate rocks, hide them in random places, and go out hunting for others - then posting pictures of their finds on a facebook group. All very wholesome and good for the little ‘sausages’.

Unfortunately he wanted his rock to be able to fly... after he’d coloured a picture of a bee that i’d done for him. I suppose it did fly - straight into a tv. It certainly stung!

Is the screen glossy or matte?

Original Poster

Looks quite matte to me. But i guess its all relative.

Its not as reflective as the previous one i had - where youcould see a window in the background during sunlight..

Hope that helps

thanks for this

I think the AO deal was a higher spec (H55N5500) and has HDR which is currently £589 at Argos (minus discount code amount).

I bought the one with HDR a few weeks ago and the picture is excellent so I would imagine this one is also very good (but I haven't seen them side by side).

Thanks OP, just picked my one. Very impressed plus quidco tracked at £18.49 including £10 bonus and also Argos £10 so overall the TV came in just over £400, brilliant value for money

Nice one. I’m pleased with mine too.

Ignore the doom and gloom people... it looks pretty good to me!

Does anyone have any calibration settings for this TV?
