Well played.

Tv any good ?

I have a 40"4k Hisense that I use as a monitor and it is very good.

Not sure if you can get this at John Lewis but if so they should price match and include 5yr warranty too.

Sensible answer - Yes it is. I bought mine for £699 from RS, but that included a 6 year warranty. 1080p performance and 4K upscaling is pretty decent, SD content is meh, 4K content is amazing, Jessica Jones being a good example. OOTB picture settings are pretty naff but if you're prepared to put the work in, it can be up there with the Samsungs and Panasonics. Black levels are amazing and local dimming makes a good job of getting deep colours with great fine detail levels. Definitely not as good as OLED but at this price, good enough. And there will a HDR software upgrade in the next few months giving even better colour reproduction.

Or if you want the short answer - YES! BUY IT!

1.57% topcashback or 1.5% quidco on AO but nothing for Amazon, may help seal the deal for some

Do anyone have any experience of AO.com's customer service as I understand Amazon is pretty good for returns. As the quality of these sets looks like it's variable I'm tempted to buy from Amazon to be on the safe side.
Sorry....does
Had a £30 off code so £569 for me many thanks ...;)

No they won't price match a website. Need one uk store.
Use code MARCH40 which takes the price down to £559.00.

Wow. That works. Discount + topcashback= purchase! Thanks to mrtumble and danmblack for your assistance!
Use the code MARCH40 to get this for £559, just ordered mine.
I bought a 55 inch Sony w8 a year ago for 799 with the soundbar. If this was available at the ine I would have gone for this. JL don't tend to stock poor quality stuff and I have heard good things about these TVs and 3 inches bigger plus it's 4K.
this is a fantastic deal - heat added

an fyi hisense 2016 range is due out any time now
what a deal £559 delivered tomorrow (Sunday) and Quidco tracking at £8.99 (likely to drop mind) looking at £550ish for a 58" UHD 3D TV scorchio!!!

But the current range is receiving the HDR update which will bring it up to 2016 spec. I only wish they'd introduced their AMOLED sets here as well. Now that would have been something to make the "big brands" soil their dungarees X)

An absolute bargain chum. And you'll not be a bit sorry. Enjoy it.
This or the Philips from argos posted just below? Would either be good for pc 4k?

Why don't they just have display port!!
No catchup tv or amazon prime according to the spec. I wonder if Plex can be installed?
I dont think this is FALD, the K720 is the FALD tv
What have you guys made me do lol, its coming 2mrw don't even need a new one
One of the reviews states " The only drawback is that the apps are aimed at worldwide use so no BBC iplayer, ITV player or 5 on demand."

Surely this is a major issue as they're the main apps i use on my smart TV, can they be installed manually?
Has anyone had any issues with lag while gaming?
Currently have a LG55LA660v and is fantastic for PS4 but really want 4K and at this price can't miss out
Purchased!
The Specifications for this tv on the hisense website appear different to the specifications on richer sounds, ao and John Lewis....
For instance they say it should come with 1 pair of active 3D glasses and it does 2d to 3D conversion...
Not fald, edge lit, for info not being a snob

If you look at the download centre pretty much all models that came without iPlayer got an update to add it. You probably won't get the others mind. But you don't get updates to the apps on most TVs anyway. The cheapest way to get updated catch-up TV services it to grab a now TV box.
