Massively overpriced in the UK $129 in the US from Walmart. (8gb version - thanks filcee)
Good spec but pretty much an unknown brand.
Haven't voted either way.

this went cold last time posted at 139, i expect this to get more heat, cracking bit of kit and decent build quality, heaty!

This would be hot if it was £99. Still overpriced compared to US price even after sales tax

The US price is irrelevant here. This is a good price for this product in the UK. The UK is an expensive place to operate compared to the US.

Look at the price of other products; often $1 is close to £1. Macbook Air is a prime example ($1099 = £949) and that's a much more expensive product with a greater margin to make up the supposed higher costs of operating in the UK.

Look like a winner to me! 32GB and an Micro SD Slot! just what the doctor ordered, With no expandable memory on the Nexus 7 always put me off buying one.

I posted this deal the other day when it was £139..which in my opinion was still a good deal..at £129 its even better

Its worth mentioning the display is 7” 1280x800 HD so should be good.

I agree with you. This brand seems to be pretty well regarded stateside but £100 would be the expected price point for me

I agree - not sure why people are continuing to vote cold? I can't find it cheaper anywhere else, nor find another tablet of equal quality and spec for this price.

Think I'd prefer the Hudl...

Hudl is wayyyyyy slower than this - no good for games.

Are you sure? This comparison of benchmarks says the RK3188 looks fine...

Reviews I've read comment on the Hudl's mediocre game performance (eg. Techradar). But I must admit I haven't actually tried one, and probably the same comments could be made for Tegra 3 now. Neither RK3188 nor Tegra 3 are exactly speed daemons by current standards. I think the slightly higher screen resolution probably hurts the Hudl a bit, performance wise.

What are os updates like on these lesser known brands? Good for the spec.

Bought one of these the other day for £149.99 and then Ebuyer dropped the price to £129.99 yesterday.
Asked for a refund of the difference as a goodwill gesture and was basically told 'tough luck' as prices go up and down all the time.

Great tablet by the way!

Great deal at this price - Hot!

Heat. seems decent but already got the Tesco hudl's, which are ok for what they are and paid for them. The only personal negative about this deal (my personal view) is the seller.

Hisense may be unknown here, but it is one of the biggest electrical device manufacures in China. As far as I know they have very good TVs at least. Take a look of their website, although it is in Chinese but you can have a feeling of the company.

HiSense is a well known make in China, I happened to walk past there building while in Quingdao on Holiday.

Just don't agree with the price when compared to the price in america (yes I know import tax etc etc etc, lower memory etc etc etc)

wouldnt you be better off picking up the asus hd 7?

Well they're the same price, but this has double the storage and is getting a 4.3 update this year.

hd 7 is getting an upgrade to 4.3 in the near future too apparently,

As they both have a microsd slot I would rather go for the ASUS brand over the extra 16gb storage for the same price

Just for anyone who isn't interested because lack of Developer option. It is there its just hidden, follow these steps :
-go into settings menu
-scroll down to About Tablet(it is very bottom of menu)
-Open About Menu
-Go to Build Number, Tap that Build Number Box fast(3-5 times)
until a small box pops up telling you now have Developer Options
-now exit About Tablet
-You will now see and have Developer Options

Trying so hard not to put the order through as i don't really need it but i want it!

I've had one of these for a few months without problem and would suggest if you want the benefit of HDMI and the SD slot then this is a good buy. It's cheaper in the US but that is for the 8Gb as someone pointed out and carries Walmart branding and apps in the OS I believe. Can be rooted though. Hopefully it will get 4.3 but currently on 4.1.2 which works fine.

Battery life isn't great and if this is important rather that HDMI and MicroSD then go for the ASUS. I don't play games or media on it so for someone that does battery may be a disappointment.

My only suggestion is don't buy on a business account from Ebuyer as you'll get a mere 28 days cover. Any problems outside of this warranty you'll need to go to the manufacturer.

Good price - just gone for one of these. The only thing that puts me off is the battery life which is supposedly sub par, though it has power saving options. I guess we'll see.

where does it say free case?

Ordered one of these for the little one for Xmas.

Cheers.

On the website .. and automatically adds it to basket when you buy tablet

question to all that have commented, what would you recommend as tab for the little one? this Hisense model, nexus (1st gen) or asus hd 7 pro. This is about the most id spend

Don't think you can go wrong with any of those. They're fairly similar spec wise, but the Asus and Hisense have more features - rear camera, micro SD slot and HDMI out on the Hisense, amongst others.

thanks, I've seen the Hudl also, we mainly have Apple devices at home, so this is a little outside my knowledge base. I just want to future proof as much as possible (2 years)

Going to put the order through after a week of thinking! £129.99 plus a free case however crap it may or may not be sounds good!

Anyone looking to increase storage like me, take a look at this :

Samsung micro sd 32gb class 10 £17.93

amazon.co.uk/Sam…ard

Or Sandisk 64gb class 10 £36.33
amazon.co.uk/San…4gb

Mine arrived earlier - seems nice and nippy, build quality seems good. Free case is adequate too. I'm pleased!

I've had one for a while (before they bundled the case unfortunately).
I am so pleased with it. It performs every bit as well as my wife's Nexus 7 but has the SD slot and HDMI out (and camera with flash - but I haven't used that).
The Wifi seems to drop out less in marginal situations too.

Comparison with the USA version sold through Walmart are not really relevant - they only have a quarter of the memory plus a load of Walmart stuff on there. What's more, most goods sold there and here seem to equate at about $1 = £1 in the shops.
Add to that the price of an airfare to collect it ....

Anyway, I digress. Very Very happy with mine. If you want a cheap but well-performing tablet, you can't go wrong.

Looked at the Asus HD7 today in PCWorld. Was quite impressed, especially by the camera and speakers, but think I may still opt for the Sero 7. Still think HDMI out is an incredibly useful feature to have available on a tablet.

Now £119.99 with case included.
