Hi all,
I spent 2 days searching for the best deal for 1TB external hard drive, and this is it! Choose free collection from one of many Tescos, so don't need to pay extra for delivery.
I've just collected mine this afternoon, and I must say it is a very good stuff, very nicely designed, surely good deal at this price (BTW it is 3.5" AC powered desktop drive). Plus £1.28 worth of Tesco clubcard points if you have one and some cashback available from quidco too.
Happy shopping

Hitachi don't make a 1TB laptop format drive yet, therefore it must be a 3.5" desktop drive. It's mains powered.

Good price! GOOD JOB!

Husband bought this from Amazon a week ago for £62 ish, no complaints. Hot

Discover Usenet and you'll fill 1TB every 6 months.

Does this drive automatically power up/down with the host pc over USB? (EDIT: According to Amazon, yes it does).

I got one of these a few weeks ago from Amazon for £59.99 with free delivery.

This is £5 cheaper so voted hot

fantastic deal thanks op

`shame! NO store around available. 54.99 + 5 =59.99. Still a bargain. Hot added.

doh just bought a WD Elements for 58~ Nevermind, good value.

Still 62 on amazon

Great deal but I've got a spare sata port available on my desktop and drives with esata /usb combo ports are only about £20 more. That's 3gbps compared to 480mbps high-speed USB.

big thanks to op, been waiting for the price on amazon to drop to £59.99 again, great deal.

IIRC, there's a review which states this drive maxes out at about 25MB/sec via USB 2 (any one who ownes one, can you confirm?).

Can't say I've used ESATA yet, I suspect it's probably quite a lot faster. USB eats a lot of CPU cycles whilst ESATA is 'native' iirc

will this work with the revo via xbmc live?

Ordered one, thanks a lot

I disagree, since the deathstar saga they've built some of the fastest, most reliable drives I've personally ever owned. In my personal opinion they've surpassed WD for quality. All my Hitachi drives are going strong.

thanks, been looking to buy one for a while
