This TV is brilliant. It is the same build/software as the 32 inch Toshiba one I have - just branded differently. Picture and sound quality is great.
Difficult to compare value when Hitachi is Argos' own brand and so not widely available elsewhere.
Anyone know the manufacturer's (Vestel) product number for this L32HK04, or the Tesco Technika equivalent as currently Tesco has a 32" HD ready at £158.
$ADZ$, what is the Tosh model number? Thanks.
How many scarts has this got ?
If it ain't got more than 3 am voting cold
voted hot managed to reserve one many thanks
anyone know where i can get a 32 inch with freeveiw and dvd built in for £200 ish please

No they are wrong, its actually bush that argos own not hitachi.
I bought one of these with the £10 voucher because of all the positive feedbacks on Argos. It turned out the picture is very bad (colours and contrast) and sound is very tinny, more like on a cheap laptop. Sound and picture went constantly "out of synch" and I had to "switch off and back on" to rectify this problem. I returned mine. Maybe I had a dud one?

This is a great TV - bought one of these a few months ago for my mum.

APPARENTLY Hitachi is made by Vestel in Turkey.

It has 2 HDMI connections & 1 Scart connection.

My guess is that it won't last as long as my mum's last Hitachi TV though - an Hitachi CBP220 manufactured circa 1970 and still running!!!
Excellent price for a branded TV. Good find OP, heat added

Modern TV's don't have the longevity of old CRT sets, but at this price you can't really expect them to. Much as it pains me to say, TV's in general have become another throw away consumable item.

All this talk of Hitachi being owned by Argos is highly amusing. Hitachi are a large global corporate with a portfolio of products that range from IT & AV products to Transportation, healthcare and biotechnology products (to name but a few). Argos are like your street corner butchers shop by comparison.
Not a bad price, but not full HD- only HD ready I think.

Context lost in original post. Hitachi indicate this TV is made exclusively for Argos and (ill-fated) Comet, hence the TV is Argos' own, not Argos own Hitachi X)

The same global corporate as indicated by the L32HK04 hyperlink to the Hitatchi worldwide digitalmedia site included in the original post.

Or so you would think. Bought this for my elderly mother, plugged her Panny BD35 in and 1080p, off the bat. Picture is good too with a bit of calibration. Bargain, regardless or a badge, Hitachi, Argos, or Homebase, don't give a monkeys as long as it performs well. 1080p was a bonus though, and with a good aerial decent on freeview too. Neg is the EPG, very small text, an electron microscope would have trouble.. Recommended.

Thank you for confirming that this TV will downscale a 1080p signal to display on its 1366 x 768 resolution HD ready screen.
