If your going to spend that much on a LCD tv its worth looking at a SONY KDL32S2010U for £822

Here's a review of the Sony.
trustedreviews.com/art…991

It might be 5 inches smaller, but its a highly rated LCD telly.

I've the 26" version and the quality is very impressive compared to my old Samsung LCD telly. The new Bravia LCD can handle standard def signals very well.

5 inches might make quite a bit of difference though... in TV terms I mean! And only 5 inches is a lot, when you are talking about diagonal distance you see. That's just my opinion though. I'm sure the Sony is a very good TV too..

(And thanks showman, I fixed that up... comet, currys, blah blah blah!)

I think it scores quite well with professional reviewers but seems to have reliability issues with tha actual people that have bought one, as Emma says judge for yourself

Always worth a try to see if John lewis will price match too - as all tv's come with a 5 year guarantee.
