Conversely, you can avoid having paid for unwanted smartTV / integral app and associated eventual obsolescence. Same as any other TV, optionally stay on top of developments / trends by using this dumb TV with a smart box that can be added / changed / upgraded at any time. Seems a decent price for the featureset within a (presumably) Vestel-manufactured Argos-rebadge TV, especially when a 43" 4k TV screen has no resolution benefit over a 43" 1080p screen when used in typical domestic applications. Each to their own, this TV will still likely appeal to a section of the market. Only obvious motivation to spend more money is potential access to inclusive extended warranty.
Not only that, but every smart tv interface I've ever used has been so incredibly cumbersome. If you have any other means to access apps on your TV (Chromecast, Apple TV, Roku, NowTv, Fire TV, Android box, Sky/Virgin box, YouView or a myriad of others) I guarantee it's quicker and more user friendly than using the integrated ones on your smart TV. I'd happily lose the smart features to save a few quid.

I don’t know what TV interfaces you’ve been using but for me they’ve been great. And if they are not good enough for you the only thing they can get is better and with time they will. If you’re spending £200 on a tv then £50-£100 on a GOOD smart compatible device then isn’t the extra money worth getting the smart integrated into the tv instead and getting a good quality one at that .

Other that than that it is a good tv but this is just my opinion don’t want to start a war over it
