I think it was £10 more with the soundbar but yes that was a good deal.

I bought this telly at the weekend was not impressed picture was awful and the sound terrible, took it back got a refund, like some have said good for a bedroom in a small space.

for those of you who have missed out on the soundbar, dont worry hardley and sound came out of it anyway, waste of money

I have the hitatchi 42 inch and the screen was easily ruined with screen burn and now iv got a grey patch going along the entire bottom of the screen.. Hopefully with this great deal they have maybe looked at this issue, fab price heat added
Might be worth getting there extra guarantee for a few pounds just incase though

I have this TV or a very similar one, it has a wifi. Here is a response to one of the Q&A'a about wifi:
Best practice is to connect directly to your router however as this product has a built in wifi module you can connect directly to a wifi network if that is more practical.
Best Regards

I am happy with the TV, it works well and is connected to my wireless hard drive. Picture and sound are good.

I thought they just did news

old deal

Many thanks for post I will be purchasing one of these promptly!!

These Hitachi TVs are absolute garbage.

yes you get a 50 inch screen size but the quality is just awful.

Better to the spend the same money on a smaller size quality screen like a samsung.

I have owned 2 Hitachi TVs and both had bad viewing angles , light bleeding on the edges, ghosting , dead areas and very very low build quality.

Remember ..... you always get what u pay for!

Bought this telly from Argos on Friday, it was £359.99 with a free Hitachi soundbar. Contrary to someone commenting, it does have a built in adaptor and is classed as a 'smart' TV, I primarily bought it as a screen, as I use a 5.1 system, so sound wasnt an issue, albeit whilst the built in sound isnt up to much, with a soundbar its pretty good for watching normal telly.
Where I find it very good, especially for its cost, is the screen quality. Hi def content looks pretty good.Having changed from plasma to this, I was concerned it would not display dark content very well, but it does it as well as my old 50" LG Plasma did.
I bought this as an interim measure, until affordable decent size 4k TVs and content become available, and thought for the price it would have a few shortcomings. All in all for the price, its a good deal.

No you do not..its already has wifi

thanks will look at something different

The sound on this to is terrible.
Stay clear is my advice as my sister in law got it and tried to return it due to the sound but Argos told her she couldn't and sound her the matching sound bar which was even worse.

Sold her a sound bar lol

Got this (and the sound bar) when the Argos voucher glitch was happening, like all flat screen TV's the sound isn't great so it's highly recommended you hook it up to a pair of speakers or a sound bar.

had the 42" same TV , broke after 3months Argos replaced for me with a Samsung. funny how this brand is going so cheap now.... if you buy be prepared for constant freezing and apps are slow. pictures no great either, L's isn't wireless.

FWIW my hitachi 42 is heading towards three years old and works great - cheap and cheerful maybe, but a decent picture and not crap.

i have this tv the quality is great, you do not need a wifi dongle as it picks up my internet connection without one, only thing i found is when trying to stream from sites pops up open and ther is no option to shut them down, good for google facebook etc but if your looking to stream movies then dont bother, also you can not download other apps only the apps that come with the tv. But as for the quality its brilliant.

Bought this from Argos eBay outlet, refurb for £239.99 amazing tv for the price. Refresh is 60hz, not sure why it says 50hz but it's fine for gaming. I use it for casual gaming and videos from my pc and also ps4 - it obviously doesn't compare to my 1440p monitor but it is incredibly cheap and does a great job. Sound sucks, but honestly who buys a 50" and uses the tv speakers. Honestly a great tv for the price

How many years guarantee do you get?

Hi mate. Where does it say 60hz? That's the one thing putting me off is the 50hz will suck for gaming

This link is dead.

had this TV for a month now. got it with the free soundbar.

yes the sound is awful but everything else is great, for me anyway. lack of HDMI ports is a minus for me but i had a spare switch so its OK.

plenty of options in the menu to configure the TV. I upgraded from cheap 32" TV so this a great improvement in all areas.

wifi....easy to setup though thebsmart TV features wernt great,a lot of foreign apps but I had an update for it today and its a lot better, very android/Google play store looking but I have an android TV box attached with xbmc so I dont really care about the smart features.

overall I'd give it 7-10.

lack of HDMI
crap sound

those r the only bad points I've got with this TV after a months use.

viewing angles pretty good. got a small.living room and settee as at the side of the TV but I can still see clearly sitting right by the TV at an angle

Can I have someone's opinion on this? I'm not sure if it's just a good deal or a waste of money so could someone confirm if the negative reviews are the truth or is it worst getting? Just to add, I do plan to use this in the main living room, although it may not be used that way for other people. Please reply asap. Thanks
