Good price for 2x 3.0Ah and 70nm max torque from a well-regarded brand.

  • 2 x 3.0Ah Li-Ion Batteries
  • Compact - only 189mm body length
  • 90min Charge Time
  • Max. Torque: 70Nm
  • 22 Torque Settings + Drill + Hammer Drill
  • 13mm Keyless Chuck
  • Forward & Reverse
  • LED spotlight
  • Spindle Lock
  • Includes driver bit, metal belt clip and carry case

Use code VALENTINES18

As it's a compact and lightweight drill, a smaller battery keeps it compact, whereas a bigger one may leave it unbalanced.

I'm not sure how this compares to the DeWalt deals. I also can't tell if the gearbox is all metal (though I suspect it is).

More specifications on the Hitachi website.

Cheaper here …Cheaper here https://www.uktoolcentre.co.uk/products/hitachi-dv18dbfl2-brushless-combi-drill-18-volt-2-x-30ah-li-ion.html?SID=778168&gclid=CjwKCAiA8P_TBRA9EiwAJrpHM5wrl3ee0y3hLeb1XeQgIfKCGuGyu9SxsCdYL_4WOmcWZyhzuBdaIBoCK_0QAvD_BwE

Good find, though they're about the same price using the Toolstation code VALENTINES18 - £14 off, valid until 22nd Feb.

Thanks both. Code added. Wasn't sure if uktoolcentre was a reliable site.

Any thoughts on this Vs the Dewalt deals?

Not really, you might have gathered from your other post I'm a Milwaukee man when it comes to cordless. I've used both in the past, the Hitachi's always seemed alright, though I bought a Hitachi angle grinder recently and it sounds rough as anything. I've got a few DeWalt corded tools, they've never let me down, and my SDS has taken some right beatings over the last 12 years or so. Of the two, based on experience I'd probably go for the DeWalt, but in terms of what you get for your money I'd go for the Hitachi.

As a heads-up, you might see some good deals on Hitachi coming up this year, as they're rebranding to Hikoki in October so no-doubt they'll be clearing out the Hitachi-branded stock.

I turned to Milwaukee tools some years ago but not impressed with the latest models. I have also used Hitachi's and although maybe not the best, they were always been solid performers. Imo, they are about the same league atm. Didn't know that will change brand name soon, hope its for the best, as Hitachi has good reputation in general.

So I'm on the look out for a new combi but would also like an impact as I've never had one.

I want heavy duty but not bothered about brushless if there are decent deals out there for brushed models.

Been a makita boy for the last 5 or so years rocking a 8444D which has served me well although the battery have just about had it.

Any recommendations?
