Thanks for the heads up OP. Ordered.

For those who got the hub and bulb for free, what a deal!

Cheers OP just brought this (dont need to be BG customer) and then brought the hive light, socket and hub from AO for £69. Which all works out at a total £143. The hive and hub on its own is £119 so basically got the bulb and socket for extra £24!

Excellent, was thinking of getting HIVE, I got tha light bulb kit from BG. It doesn't say but I assume this is Hive Active Heating 1st Gen, not Hive Active heating 2?

phoned hive and ordered active heating without hub for 74.25 delivered.delivery estimate 3-5 days

Is the light kit the same as the smart kit they gave away a year ago? As on will the hub work on the hive thermostat?

If you have an Amazon Echo Plus then you don't need a hub as it has one built-in

If anyone has got experience with installation, would the following wiring work ?

This is a remeha combi boiler.

Managed to get one ordered online without installation. Been looking for a cheap v2 thermostat to replace my v1.

Can't you use the same hub from the Free lights?

I love HUKD. Thanks for this OP. (As long as you are eligible for BG rewards) - Get Hive thermostat, controller, hub and 2 active lights for £75

I would recommend the Amazon deal
amazon.co.uk/Hiv…ive
£159 includes HUB and BG installed

Currys and Argos are doing the same deal. Apparently the fitter brings the hub with him on installation.

I've been looking for a decent Hive deal in the sales and I think that this suits me perfectly and for £74 I couldn't resist. Thanks OP.

received two parcels today
parcel 1 two bulbs and hub
parcel 2 heating and hot water control + thermostat.( I had Danfoss CP15- same base plate so did not need to do anything with cables just pushed the unit on.I have turned old thermostat to max) and every thing is working perfect with hive including lights.

Does anybody know the difference between the active heating without hub and the multizone Kit. They both appear to have the exact same components but I can’t find the active heating kit without hub other than the hive website. I can get a lot better deal on the multizone Kit.

Multizone seems same

Bought instead of brought

i got the hive hub and light bulb, but then i got tp link bulb in living room and yealight in bedroom,
my heating is controlled by sonoff th10 with sensor probe.

so should i sell the hive with light bulbs or invest in expensive hive products

Would this work with the Vitoden 100 combi boiler

Yes

All the reviews I read say the remote network never seems to work for the Hive, always reporting as down.

Does the Hive thermostat have an optimum start feature? My old Honeywell thermostat learns how long it takes to heat the house and works out when to turn the heating on so it is at the set temperature by the set time. Is the Hive able to do this? I've seen sites that they say it can and others that say it can't.

Thanks OP. Didn't know about the free hub either so ordered both for £74.25 Happy days

This looks like a great deal. If only I understood what all this hive stuff actually is, and what it does.....!

Is it free once installed or do you have to pay a monthly fee?

Unless they've just added this to the latest model, it never has previously, this is just a fancy thermostat with "remote" abilities - for learning habits etc. you need Nest or the like.

I'm with Apple Homekit camp and WAS going down the Philips Hue (and eventually Tado route)... this is a gamechanger.

I've just got my free lights from British Gas. If I call up for this £74 deal, which Hub do they ship v1 or v2?

Also, does anyone know if Hive will ever be on Homekit? Much like Ikea lights have just climbed on board... is it worth the wait, or is everyone now jumping ship to Alexa/ Android/ Google Home???

Decisions/ decisions...

I already have a hive receiver connected to my boiler. Can i buy this £74 deal to get the updated thermostat? The V1 thermostat is PANTS.

Oh hang on is this kid for British Gas customers? I am not a BG customer.

Thanks - ah right - so I’d be be ok to get this and it would work with my existing receiver too?

Planning to get the hub + ‘free’ lights posted on the other deal from amazon too.

Unless there’s any better deal for all this stuff going around??

I bought from Amazon with installation - BT engineer brings hub on installation date. Wait time for installation is 12 days (currently) A great deal as in my area installation is £80-£100 alone. A great find
