Which one is better hive or nest

Both basically do the same thing, apart from nest creates a Auto schedule from detecting your preferences and activity in the house ( we found it really good and rarely had to manually put on the heating ) nest also looks way better in my opinion and the app works great too. I went with nest if you can’t tell and feel wveryone should have a smart thermostat.

Does this include all the bits needed to install it? Like the hub and receiver or do you have to buy them separately?

Or is it just good to go for installation after buying this? (edited)

Damn that's good with install. I bought one a few months ago for £200 which I thought was cheap from the rrp of £249

Worth noting that they recently added 'ready now' so it learns how long it takes your home to heat up. This is a feature many were asking for a long time.

For example, if you set to 20 degrees at 7am, it will get to 20 degrees by 7am.

I called hive the other day as an existing customer they upgraded me for £99 with the hub, thermostat water and heating and installation.
If you own an older hive would recommend calling

My nest gen 1 broke after 26 months. No help from Google. Was not so cost effective

Also in Reading today. If I hadn't already bought one (without installation) I'd jump at this price. (Still not fitted mine!!)

Am I right in thinking that free installation is only if you have a gas boiler? So oil boilers aren’t eligible

Paid £150 around a year ago from Amazon with installation, good cost and great purchase for the house.

Dang - just had a Hive system installed (for £300 installed with 2 zones)! Ah well.

From what I can tell there's not much difference between them practically, but the Nest is possibly slightly better for most people due to the auto-learning schedule, although tends to be slightly more expensive.

However if your heating system has more than 1 zone (ours has upstairs and downstairs) then hive is significantly cheaper, (around £100 for the extra thermostat and valve controller, as you can link it to the same hub) Nest can do multi-zone, but you basically have to buy 2 complete nest systems.

I decided the learning schedule wasn't worth the extra £100ish.
