Just to add, this is version 1.

Version 2 is £249 from British Gas/Amazon... as far as I can tell, its just the look of the Thermostat that has changed.

From what i have read, and the reviews I have read, these are the biggest waste of time and very rarely work ?
Waking up to cold water and no heating. Customer service a waste of time too.
Personally i wouldn't have one if it was fitted for free

Seems good price, even if it's the old thermostat. Very tempted.
Currently only open to Prime members. Will see and decide when they open it up later to all members.

I've had one installed for a few months now, works flawlessly for me, I did a lot of research in these smart thermos, didn't like the Nest and the some of the other systems were quite expensive with lots of zones etc, so I plumped for the Hive and glad I did, I use it on my phone all the time and its just superb, simplicity at its best with no faffing.

It is worth noting that Hive are releasing more smart home products which work with the hub that comes with the Hive, stuff like motion sensors and door/window sensors, light bulbs and mains plugs, all contolled via the app or on the pc.

Its really eye opening once you start using this type of product as to how good it really is and how useful it can be.

Just on a side note, Hive/BG currently have an upgrade offer whereby you can get the v2 Thermostat for £99.
So this lightning deal + a v2 thermostat still works out a little cheaper that the v2 RRP.

I have had Hive for a year now. Best way to control the central heating. The old controller had a mind of its own. Heat added.

I had my hive installed a few weeks ago and they released the v2 the next day. When I called to complain they said as I was in my cooling off period I could have the new one for £50 (which was the difference in price between v1 and v2. I had in fact bought it months before on an amazon lightning deal. Definitely worth a try to get v2 for £184.99. I also use it regularly.

Quick question for those that have it...
If wifi goes off for whatever reason, can you still control the heating etc manually ?

If v1 was any good why bring out v2 ?

If the iPhone was good enough why bring out the iPhone 2 onwards?

Same for the Hive then if you don't improve you fall behind the competition.

Exactly my point, thank you.

I got this over a year ago and it is not good at all. It very rarely works and if I could I would go back to my old control. So be warned.

'frequently bought together with an inflatable dinosaur?' seriously the weirdest buying suggestion from Amazon.....

yes - you use the wall mounted controller and do what ever you need to do via that.

quick answer....yes

had it for a couple of months, what a difference .great if you're disabled and can't walk much sometimes.easily controlled via app.over time the software etc will be updated.wouldn't pay price for v 2 tho.

Interesting match on Amazon:

The difference between them is purely cosmetic.
