Product description
Hive is the clever way for you to control your heating and hot water. You just use your mobile, tablet or laptop – anytime, anywhere. Designed for British homes and installed for you by British Gas engineers, Hive makes heating and hot water control easy. State of the art kit includes the Hive thermostat, hub and receiver. Control your heating and hot water when you’re on the move using the app or online dashboard. Change your heating schedule to suit your life so you never come back to a cold home. No need to heat an empty house so you could save up to £150 a year on your heating bills.

Control on the go
Control your heating and hot water with the easy-to-use Hive app on iOS and Android, the online dashboard or by text. Check your home is the perfect temperature and change it when you need to.

Hive works with your existing heating system
With Hive, there’s no need to change your energy supplier because it works with your existing heating system. Especially designed for British homes, Hive works with over 99% of boilers - although our engineers currently can’t install Hive on oil boilers.

State of the art kit
The Hive kit is made up of three pieces: The thermostat – lets you control the temperature manually; The hub – plugs into your broadband router so your thermostat can connect to the internet and be controlled remotely; The receiver – fits close to your boiler and lets your thermostat and boiler talk to each other.

Professionally installed for you by a British Gas engineer
Once you receive your Hive pack just give British Gas a call, quoting the voucher code you’ll find in the Welcome leaflet and British Gas will book your installation for you. Hive is installed by a British Gas engineer under British Gas Terms and Conditions. They’ll bring the kit and install it in around 90 minutes. You don’t need to be a British Gas customer to have Hive, it works no matter who supplies your energy.

Hot water control when you need it
If you have a hot water tank, you can control your hot water with Hive too. You can turn it on or off and change your schedule wherever you are. The clever boost feature lets you have hot water when you’re in a hurry.

Save up to £150 a year on your energy bills
Hive helps you to save energy and money by putting you in control. When your plans change, you can just switch the heating off so you won’t be wasting energy. You’ll never need to heat an empty home again and you could save up to £150 a year on your heating bills.

Box Contains
1 x Voucher code & welcome guide entitling customer to professional installation of the Hive thermostat

Looks as if it's the old model.

Apparently the only difference is a better looking thermostat plus you can upgrade to that if you want for £99.

If you missed out on Argos and John Lewis for about £118.99 (they went quickly), then this might be the last chance to get it pretty cheap

Still a deal as for this price, with the £99 upgrade fee its £233.99 for v2 rather than £249.

Also as tanked says its still perfectly functional and is only the thermostat that's different. That said I'm going to wait for a decent offer on a v2, or hope argos one comes back in stock.

The only reason I'm not getting it is I'm on oil and in Northern Ireland which means I'd have to fit it myself which I'm not sure about.

Otherwise I'd snap this up in a second. It would easily pay for itself and I doubt version 2 will ever get this low and will probably just go to £199. I'd put up with an uglier thermostat for a £65 saving.

FYI for anyone with a conventional boiler Nest doesn't control hot water.

the engineer installing ours said the only difference is aesthetic. we bought for 199 a month or so ago and can already tell that this will save us money over the winter.
