This looks a like a good deal and the features look really good as the cold is coming. Controlled by the thermostat, online or through a smartphone so you can turn your central heating off or on remotely if you're going to be home early or late.

I thought they were also doing the Nest but for £150
Fitting these things are not difficult either

Not sure aj84. My inlaws have got one and they swear by it. Damn, forgot to put what it is in the description... can anyone edit this for me please, can't see how to do it on my phone. Thanks, John

The title explains it all!

I've got one of these and fit these. App works brilliantly. Doesn't suit everyone's needs but works for my house brilliantly.

Heat added for discount but I have fitted for cheaper ;-)

You don't even have to leave the sofa to change the temperature, how does that not suit everyone! lol

Get it for free and fitted on a certain npower tarrif. I'd do a price comparison first on your energy usage first though.

Do not get the 'free' one. The tariff is mince.

Tado is a much more cost effective way of trialling then buying if you wish

haha very true. I agree!

Brilliant, I paid £199 from Apple store but they replaced my old damaged thermostat, old battered clock and this one actually tells ha the room temp so no moaning from her the house is cold. Took the guy about an hour to do removing the old crap.

Following my annual service last month my Scottish Gas engineer offered to set up Hive for me for £99. This "offfer" is available to anyone who has a "faulty" thermostat. I took him up on the offer as I wanted the facility to change the start stop times of my system at weekends. Anything else is a bonus.

If your a British Gas and maybe Sainsbury Energy (samething) then you can get this for £150 anyway, they don't tell you though

Waste of money IMHO for what will be the emperors new clothes for a week or two then most likely forgotten about.

I echo williamh1. I had BG out for my annual service and the guy mentioned the Hive kit. I declined initially, they'd charge £199 if you called them out specifically, £149 if they install one while they're in the house anyway (takes around an hour), but if there's a fault somewhere with your programmer then they will install for £99. When he told me that, I noticed that my programmer had miraculously gotten a smashed LCD and I luckily qualified to get it for £99! An hour later and it was up and running. We have a fairly big house and we will recoup that relatively quickly, but I'm not so sure for a small flat. Also, the app is extremely slow to link in to the system. Good piece of kit, but you can get it cheaper if you play the game.
