HIVE Active Heating Multizone - £74.99 @ Currys

Seems like a good price for the Hive Thermostat and they are probably matching the previous deal from AO.

I don't think it includes the Hive Hub but it is unclear as the specification does say it it includes thermostat and receiver.

Don't do hive, try Nest instead compatible with many other brands. Hive has saved me money as most time tried to remotely turn on heating it fails. Yesterday came back to a cold house after 5 days away due to hive. My radiators valves all open waiting for hot water (controlled separately due to hive refusing to speak to other brands).

Except Nest is £192. Taking the small risk of having a faulty product is worth the saving tbh

I have Hive and it's amazing, not a single problem. You can also phone their very good UK help desk and they can upgrade firmware remotely if you are having issues.

Hive Gen 1 seems to be working OK in our holiday home so far after a few months - had some teething problems getting set up mainly due to plumber just fitting and walking away! Can't believe you have to phone them up to activate though, instead of online registration, seems very 20th century!

I installed mine myself and never had to call up. Just registered the hub online and off I went. There was a scratch off card in the box that never needed to use.
Thanks OP. I've taken a punt, as I don't already have hive, so hoping it comes with everything needed to get started. Not too sure really, as it has a photo of the hub but doesn't list it. Fingers crossed!
This does not come with the hub, it is to be bought soon addition with the pro or self install kit and is intended for heating systems with zones - i.e upstairs and downstairs thermostatic controls.
Also i would go with the deal from AO. com as it's £74.99 but with their own £30 cashback making it £44.99. I've just bought the same kit after looking for a while. Hope that helps someone out

It looks like the AO cashback is finsihed as I could not see it on there site when I searched for Hive products but if it is still valid then yes that is a much better deal.

Good to know about the Hub as the Currys site is slightly misleading as it includes a picture of the hub in the product listing.

I assume this is the same as the normal Hive solution but just does not include the Hub which you need to buy seperately and if you already have a hub this is the option you would go for is that right ?

Ah apols it must have only just been removed as mine was delivered today.
You could buy a hub to combine them both but it would be more expensive and you'd have to self install - not really a deal in my view that way. I got hive with pro installation and multi room stat for £203.99 after £30 cash back - best deal I have seen so far

Hi, I am in the same boat as you currently and was hoping to get some help. I have a hive hub and currently do not have active smart heating installed, If i buy the multizone version, would it work to control my heating? I am not bothered about controlling hot water etc. I have a combi boiler (worcester greenstar 30cdi)

Thanks

Hi, sorry, I can't actually help with this. I went for TADO in the end on a very good deal and never looked back

That said, I do know that the multizone still requires the main unit, so actually I guess I can help - buying the multizone unit won't help, you'd need to get the normal Hive thermostat. Alternatively, I'd completely recommend the brilliant TADO. It was £40 on a deal on here a while ago, from O2, but I'm not sure if it's still around for that or not. It was the v2, rather than the v3, but the only difference is apple homekit support I believe.

Hope that helps somewhat!
