Looks like everyone calling them up has forced them to reduce the price online.

£159 - with installation.

AO - great customer service.

Cheaper here - unless the one you've quoted includes installation?

It does.

Worth including 'and hot water' in the title. Hive Active Heating and Hive Active Heating and Hot Water are two different products.

Well I ordered one, went back to the page and the £30 offer has gone? Luckily I got a screenshot beforehand, dunno why but was paranoid. Now I guess I have to wait and see if they let me have it, it's going back otherwise.

An you post the screen shot so I can try my luck please?

Just talked to a very helpful bloke at ao, apparently the offer has been removed in error and should be there til the 30th. The admin team are looking at rectifying that now, and they are going to credit me £30 back to paypal to save messing about.

Can someone explain the £30 cashback plse

£30 cashback is gone... no more available of the site... just be aware of it before placing the order...

But because it was there earlier and someone says it's been removed in error will they honour it?

Still there on all other hive products, just not this one:

ao.com/l/s…=12

Seem the cashback is only now available on the self install £124 versions.

Ive just this afternoon installed a Hive thermostat, swapped from an existing RF thermostat setup (boiler is connected to a receiver and receives signals from a remote thermostat i.e no direct wires from thermostat to boiler). It was installed within 45mins, three wires (Live, Netural, Switched Live) wired to the Hive receiver. Couldn’t have been easier.

Hi Andy. Did you do the install on a combo boiler and also does the £124 version cover hot water and heating? Cheers

Yes installed on a combo boiler, obviously didn’t need to wire up the water as hot water via a combo boiler is on-demand. You can obviously choose to buy the heating only version but figured might as well get the dual channel version.

Do you need the hive hub as well for this to work?

This comes with the hub, reciever and thermostat.

Get them to price match amazon (£159) and the cashback offer still remains, so £129

Ordered, thanks OP!

Absolutely gutted got a wireless thermostat installed last week for £120, was considering nest/hive but went for cheaper option as looking to sell next year but still hive at a similar price woulda been better. Brewing

Just to clarify guys, spoken to AO who have said the £30 cashback is still available for this product. It’s not clear why it’s not appearing on the site

Price should be £170, that's what you need to pay up front.

Would be wary of the £30 cashback now that it has been removed from the web page, otherwise I'd jump at it.

Thanks op

now need good bulb deal to go with this

Set up multiple networks? Mine isn't going anywhere near my servers!

AO delivered this morning, and credited £30 back to my PayPal an hour later. Now just have to organise installation.

Not sure that the average Joe is likely to be a target of someone sat outside their house trying to decrypt their thermostats wifi traffic?

Actually, now I think about it, if they can decrypt the thermostat then they can decrypt the computers wifi too?

Next booking they can give me as December 14th! Oh well, guess I'd have that no matter who I got it off.

Got mine today, £30 cashback in process. And they price matched to £159, so in total got the whole thing for £129.

AO are pretty darn decent!

How did you progress the cashback; did you receive an email with the form to fill out as it says on their site?

Yep. Once I got the thermostat, I got an email a couple of hours later from ao which said I'm eligible for cash back. clicked, filled it in and its now in process.

Worth bearing in mind, the cash back offer appears to have gone from their site now.

They did mine via paypal as the offer wasn't showing, received it shortly after delivery.

Is the £30 cashback still available?

I know this is an old thread and likely won't be seen again, but just wanted to post that ao.com have great customer service.

BG were due today, I called them twice and both times was told they were still coming. I then receive a call at midday saying nope, too busy, how is January 19th? I explained I needed it, and had been waiting a month already, but was told that unless I was a homeserve customer they couldn't prioritise me. They also admitted they'd known all day it wasn't going to happen, and should have told me that at 8am when I first called so I could go to work. I asked about self install, they said I couldn't as they had the rest of the kit and won't send it out.

Anyway, after all this I just cancelled and went to ao.com to get a refund. They were great, offered to swap mine for the self install version and help towards the cost of installation! Seriously can't fault them, absolutely great service and I will use them again. New unit arriving tomorrow
