They must hate me then! 3 week wait for install, which they cancelled at the last minute after I'd sat at home for 4 hours already, then said next available is late January!
Does this work homes with multiple controllers. Eg one on ground floor and another controller in bedroom. Does one need to buy two hive units for such homes?

Just depends on the location, some areas are stacked with breakdowns and
engineers are sent to them before a hive install. Understandable but frustrating I know. Hive are usually very good at rearranging stuff when you call them though.

I was told Jan 19th was the next available engineer, told them not to bother and returned it as I'd already waited since mid November. There must be a shortage of BG plumbers in my area!
Currently have a basic Drayton combi stat downstairs (the dial type!), and then basic water / heating programmer upstairs next to the hot water tank......would anyone in the know reckon I could have HIVE installed for heating and water control please?
Great price with install - hea
Save your money and put it towards Evohome (you'll recoup the investment in the long run).

Great price that was available two weeks ago - this item is down in price so much they may as well start selling it in DFS, anyone who buys it at rrp as a fool as its never going to be long till its down again

Was £249.99 (from 29/11/2017 to 15/12/2017)
I have 2 zones + 1 underfloor + 1 hot water tank. Any idea what I need to buy?
Amazon have price matched for those who prefer to get it delivered rather than reserve and collect

You will need another thermostat for the second zone. I’ve got that set up and it works well.
I'm sure it comes up every time - but what are the advantages of this against nest?
Very good bit of kit, we have 2 zones and once you have it with the hub you can add lights and plugs and control the lot via voice with Alexa , amazon echo

It’s brilliant we and turn on the garden lights the Christmas tree , dim any light or turn of lights in the house

It’s like Star Trek

Similar position...I have 1 zone rads, 1 underfloor, 1 hot water tank ...I believe I need this + additional thermostat which is 99 quid at amazon drops to 75 sometimes. You may need 2 of the 99 quid thermostats...however, dont know if you could just get another one of these stats that can do hot water and 1 zone they may be dual purpose two zones....the Hive web site has an advice line suggest giving them a call before ordering.

What I would like to now is can I buy this with install and an addiitonal 99 quid thermostate and the BG engineer will fit the lot?

Cheaper than nest is about it for the advantages unless you have other Hive stuff
Nest actually learns your habits, and can connect to much more.
Nest best price ive seen is 150 each thermosta no installation - would prefer nest but probably going to go for one of these
Great price and will pay for itself inside 3 years with the savings you'll make.

Had mine since February

Basically, ask Curry's if you can have a full refund if for any reason it cannot be installed.

Amazon promised this to me so I went ahead.

My set up is a a back boiler behind the fire with a water tank in the loft

It works a treat but I do have to sync my heating with my water on as this is what i had to do before it was installed

I do exactly the same, but use TP Link plugs and Yeelights which are far cheaper than Hive products
Hi, can I ask those that are in the know, I have a modern oil fired central heating system, the boiler (Worc Bosch) heats our home and hot water this is in the utility room, the thermostat is located in the hallway. My question is a) will this be compatible with an oil fired system and b) Will I be able to programme hot water and heating. C) Will Amazon Echo be able to be used to turn on/off. We have a bt infinity broadband if that helps. Many thanks for any assistance.
I’ve thought about this before. Working with Alexa would be good once I sort that for audio mainly. What kind of cost savings are possible heating wise then?
Can someone tell me (sorry if daft question) does this need to be fitted where current thermostat is?

i think.....many people fit it there but it is actually portable/wireless (look at the stands you can buy) so it must fit onto some sort of backplate which would presumably be fitted where your existing one thermostat is . The controls need to be wired into where the exiting controls/time is
Does this work as a thermostat please? As I do not have one and my main reason for buying it is using it as a thermostat.

Horses for courses. I have installed many of both systems. Some customer absolutely love nest where as others don't like it. The reason for that is that it starts to learn your habits and sometimes switches in heating etc..... This can be annoying for sum.
Is this the latest version
For anyone concerned about installation, contact Amazon chat, ask them if they will refund if for any reason it can't be installed, then order it through them for the same price

The control unit (shiny mirror box) is wireless so can be situated anywhere

That connects to a hub which sits near your modem

The Hub speaks to a thermostat controller which is hard wired where you current Timer sits

No just the add on stat. The received is at the boiler. Once the thermostat sends a signal to the receiver the boiler will fire and the divert valve will open to the zone which is calling for heat.

thanks - can I ask what about the wires that connect into the existing themostat
It depends on which model is you existing thermostat, hence why this price is a bargain because it's guaranteed to be up and running for £160 or you should get a full refund (check 1st)

Paying less for a self install might be cheaper but you might be left with something that might not be comapatable
