British gas currently have a subscription method of getting Hive Active Heating for £9.00 a month. After looking at their terms, you can cancel the subscription after installing for a £150 fee, making the total cost £159 including the first month of the subscription service.
This is the cheapest I have seen for the installation version.
When you cancel, you lose the, hive Live, but still works as per the shop bought Hive systems.
Edited to add that this is only for British Gas customers, but from what I can see, you can take out Home care at the same time, for £10 for the first month, bringing the total cost for non British Gas customers to £169 installed.

I think when you cancel they collect the hive thermostat back

You might want to add the deal works for BG customers only.

No, it says in the t&c that it just reverts to a normal hive active heating, just without the extra hive live subscription

I would like to see them try !

Thanks, my bees will be happy.

You have to cancel after 14 days otherwise:

You’ll no longer be able to control your Hive Active Heating remotely and you’ll lose the additional features and benefits of Hive Live. But it will work as a conventional thermostat which you’ll be able to control and programme when you’re in your home

Well spotted! thats what you get when you read T&C's on a small mobile screen! - Edited my original post to make this point clear!

I'm also on my phone!

(But I was looking into this myself recently - guilty of researching on computer -so I was already aware of it and knew where to look!!)

They indicate £150 cancellation fee in the first 12 months or 70 in the second 12 months

I posted about this few weeks back

Apologies for the repost MrJinxy - It has changed since your post though, as now open to any British Gas energy customer too! - I confirmed that I could cancel with the sales adviser on the phone, and she said most definitely would get to keep the system, just not the "Hive Live" benefits, which to be honest, I wouldn't really need. You can still control remotely without the "Hive Live" offering!

I might sign up today then, this post shouldn't be cold

This looks like a great deal to me. Cheapest I can find. There was a post a while back about being a BG home care customer and calling them out for faulty thermostat. But that seemed like more hassle than this and not guaranteed. Think I might do this. Thanks OP

Very tempted

£150 up to theend of month 12£70 from month13 up to the endof month 24

Is it only me who thinks they may want to charge £220 cancellation fee for cancelling in month one?
