Did I miss something?
Hive Active Heating Kit
without Hive Hub
from £99
Good luck if you go for installation, mine was due today but they cancelled and can't come out now til January 19th! Better to get a local firm to do it.
Get a nest.

The hub with these I found to drop out quite frequently and if you move it has to stay.
how did you get it to £79.20?
That says £99 and you can't even add to basket at that price??

I would suggest Nest too, but you don't need to "leave the hive behind if you move". IF you decide to leave it behind, the new owners need to buy a new hub for the smart/remote features. IF you decide to take it, you just take it. Just leave everything safe for the new owners so there aren't live wires floating around.
is this receiver and thermostat?
How do you get it at this price. My parents have bulbs and a hub, and were looking at installing nest/hive/evo home. (The jury is still out...)

How do we get it for "this" price?
I believe you have to be logged in to your Hive account to see the discount. They currently have 20% off

Thanks for the info. Seems like it's a good price if you already have the hub. Decisions decisions.

Me too!! I know long term wise evo home is probably better but for £80 this seems really cheap.

They don't charge a monthly fee unless you take a monthly plan for it.

They've stopped you from doing self install on their website. Saying if you want to buy, please call them first.
They'll tell you that you can't take it because they'll want you to buy another set and pay another install.

I've kept all the old equipment, so if I wanted to move I just popped the old stuff back in and it's done. Wouldn't want to leave exposed cables to the new owner.
Yes did it myself. 20 minute jobby
Details are a bit brief on the website, how does the multi zone device work?? Do you need to have something attached to each radiator?

You need a mulltizone CH system. If you have two stats in your house one upstairs and one downstairs then you have a multizone. Otherwise the mutlizone stat is useless
Loving my Hive, easy to install and use. Longest bit was waiting for the hub to update!!!

Thanks. There was a silimilar offer a few weeks ago that I missed so I’ve been waiting for it again. I got the free hub and bulbs a couple of weeks ago and I’ll be installing it all myself. So total cost of £79.20 for hive heating and 2 bulbs. Bargain!
I have just installed mine. Bought it for £75 on black Friday and it's great. Great value if you have the hub already thanks to British gas.
Our combi boiler did not have a thermostat connected to it. I purchased the Hive multi zone stat (in the box was a the thermostat and a single channel receiver) I connected the receiver to my Worcester combi boiler myself (4 wires) and was then able to control the central heating via the thermostat that can be either wall mounted or taken from room to room and placed anywhere.

I've just read that the hue bulbs work with Nest but not with hive.

I could still get the hive but will just have two hubs and two different apps?

Guess it also depends what you prefer to use. I’ve got Alexa setup to control my hive and ikea bulbs. Could add Nest or Hive Heating and add to Alexa.
Also like to use HomeKit but hive doesn’t work on that but ikea lights and nest heating does.

if Hive added HomeKit I would get this in an instant and slowly move everything over. It’s great using with Alexa, Siri or directly on iPhone or Apple Watch to control other things.

I've got Alexa at home but my parents don't have it. I've gone and ordered two now!!! Retail therapy ... (one for myself!)

It's just an extra app and hub so shouldn't be too much of an issue. Or might need to pick up an echo for my folks!

I think it's the opposite of this with the hub - you can't leave it behind because British Gas say once it's linked to an account it can't be changed. I contacted their support yesterday and asked them to factory reset a hub I'm not using so I can give it away to somebody and they point blank refused.

Yes that is correct, I was talking more about the hive heating when I meant it has to stay behind.
