Can't see a better deal. I already have a hub so will probably put that on Gumtree and get £20 back!

Can you resell the hub as the ones direct from BG you can't apparently as they are registered to you and that can't be changed.
32911115-jEh8C.jpgI have this hub to control my heating.
Will the hub with this pack control my heating also or will I have to use both?
The picture shows the old design plug (no real difference in operation) but still a good deal.
Is it 2 bulbs or 1 .... website is not really clear

The bundle contains everything you need to kick things off, with two smart bulbs, a smart plug, and the Hive hub to tie them together. <<< taken from product overview

How can you tell if a hub has been already registered? I bought one off eBay as part of a pack - don’t want to use it myself so was going to resell but don’t want to do this if it’s actually registered to the original person I bought it from!

As it's from AO and they don't know my details it can't be pre-registered, I assume..

does the hub connect to the modem or just a wall outlet? thanks
Tempting.....
Is it better than Philips hub?
Do you have to pay anything monthly!?

No monthly payment.. Hub connects to Modem & power..
So, if you have a Hive hub will it control all hive products (socket, bulbs, thermostat etc)?

Also, does it work with Google Home?

Amazon have the hub with 2 bulbs (but no socket) for £44.99 if you are just interested in the lighting amazon.co.uk/Hiv…1-1
Also, Quidco currently have 3% at AO for this particular deal.
nice one heat added, if u r with British Gas i think they are giving for free as reward
Great price. Thanks Op. Heated and ordered.

Either your old hub or new one should control heating and lights (and any other Hive bits). You’d have to register a new hub.

Great thanks. Do you know if there is any benefits/advantages between new to old? Further range etc.
Im not a tech guy and don't want to keep my old one on if theres a chance that adding too much stuff I.e. many bulbs and plugs would render it useless.
But I would rather keep my old one in so I can maybe sell the newer style.
Apologies for expecting you to be my guru. I will pay you in gratitude and imaginary hi 5s

Not sure that's the case as I still had to enter the ID off the bottom to set it up.

I'm not aware of any operational differences. I'd see if the old one works ok and take it from there.
is the smart plug here the same as the smart plug going for £30 odd? bit confused?

According to hive website the smart plug is different to an active plug,

A SmartPlug is a Signal Booster . Your Signal Booster will help your Hive products talk to each other and extend the wireless range of your system. While you can plug other electrical devices into your SmartPlug you can not control these remotely.

With Hive Active Plug you can control your electrical devices remotely from your mobile, tablet, or laptop

@sportyfae if that's the case the ao website is seriously misrepresenting the product on the website. It specifically states controls electrical devices in the home.
Wait till it's 15 pounds.

Might have finished now. It was lights starter kit supposedly worth £118

You got a choice of screw (E27) or bayonet (B22) bulbs and a hub. It included two of whichever bulb you chose and there was 39,000 of them available from memory

This is a link to the hive site. Impossible to know if ao have misunderstood the product or simply referred to smart plug in error when it's actually an active plug?

So..... what does this do

exactly why I asked this earlier because it seemed too cheap considering the kit involved. the picture included here is different to what the active home plug looks when bought separately, however I can't find the 'non-active' one available for purchasing separately...

Mine wasn't registered to me from British Gas.
Just managed to buy one from ao.com - not sure why it says deal expired.
Any clarity over whether the plug can be switched on and off remotely?

Received today. It is an active plug.
